Hey guys!

This the thread where you can submit your entries to the Community Crunch contests!

ARKitect!

This is an award given to Survivors to celebrate the amazing structures you build. These bases are judge based upon a number of different factors such as their creativity, uniqueness, how fun of a base it is, the difficulty of building it, the functionality it provides and much more! At the end of each week, the winners and runner ups will be featured in our #ARKitect section of the Community Crunch and will be awarded cash prizes!

Note: We've had a lot of requests regarding the use of mods - go for it! We'd love to see how mods have influenced your bases

NEW CONTEST: ARKpocalypse!

After a certain time has passed, these extinction servers - do exactly as they describe. They make everything on that server, become extinct. So here's what we'd like to do! We want to see your end-of-world moments, they can be epic-screenshots, a goodbye recording to your Dinos as you'll know it's the last time you'll see them, an epic clash against the big-tribes on the server - anything you fancy! But there are some key requirements. First of all, you must show us the gigantic meteor in the sky, be it through just the corner of our eyes, or a panoramic shot of the skyline, or even a few frames in the video! We want to see the impending doom that's about to affect Survivors on that server! And secondly we need evidence that you're actually playing on an Extinction server. Take a screenshot of the pause menu, perhaps in your base or somewhere where you're able to identify that the server is extinction, and it's happening soon! The shots must be taken near to the final moments!

So just to round that up, here's a TL/DR:

- Final moments in an Extinction server

Must include:

- Evidence that it is an extinction server (screenshot of the pause menu)

- Evidence that is is near the final moments (it displays how much time is left! Let's say 36~ hrs for now, and we'll see how the submissions go!)

- Giant meteor must be somewhat visible in entry!

Of course you can submit multiple entries for this, much like the others. Not sure how many we'll get this week as the time has passed but we'll see anyway! This will be a monthly-running contest, with a cash prize similar to the above :).

LIMITED ONE-TIME CONTEST: The Center Boss Fight!

large.20160518232700_1.jpg.1ad3c446453e4

For Official server The Center players, we're giving away $1000 cash, $500 to the first Xbox tribe and another $500 to the first PC tribe to beat both bosses on an Official PVP server.

Screenshot proof of the pause menu in the boss arena including server name, as well as the items received from defeating the bosses must be provided! You can upload your images to our forums, and write a comment down below with the screenshots. Good luck!

NEW CONTEST: ARKVideo

Up until now you've only been able to included in our feature section, but now you are able to compete for prizes! This new Contest will be open for all types of video be they funny, epic, scenic, stories, whatever inspires you. Just a general reminder that they should remain safe for work, think of the children! So send us in your videos and we cannot wait to watch them! We're really interested in seeing the latest video creations you guys have put together - so show us something fresh! :)

Uploading the images

Please upload the images to the gallery section of our New Community Hub - you can create your own album and directly link us to that or attach it to your post! Please remember to post your entry to this thread specifically! If you're not able to upload directly to the gallery, don't sweat as imgur will work fine too!

Our accountant is back! They're going to start sending out prizes to those who are waiting and you guys should get em very soon - I'm still waiting for replies from some of you though! Please get back to me as soon as possible so we can make sure you get in on this batch :)

Thanks guys!

Looking forward to seeing the entries!

All the best,

Wildcard Jat

Well Zergling, perhaps this will be of help to you then.

Presenting an instructional showcase and how to use video featuring the Platforms Plus Mod, which gives you upscaled redwood building platforms that fit standard size walls exactly (4 across on each edge of the platform) and come complete with snap points for ease of use.

It also boasts a new type of platform (metal glass) and each section (or wedge if you will) also comes separately so that you can instantly put entire floors in your base... at whatever height and in whatever combination you prefer.  And it even comes with roof sections that fit the same way.

Now, I'm in a bit of a quandary as to which contest this should be in.  It covers how to use the mod effectively in a variety of creative ways, and also discusses the (few) quirks the mod has and how to overcome them... so in that regard it's an instructional video that would fit into the ARKvideo contest nicely.  However the main focus is building, and I show you my base and a few other structures (... and perhaps a glimpse of something more akin to an inter-connected arboreal city, complete with walkways for ease of travel), so it could also fall neatly into the ARKitech contest.

I suppose for this one I should probably let the contest judges and/or the community decide where it fits best.

Either way, I'm just happy to be in there somewhere!

Why can't you use Mods?

For some reason every time I try even on my new pc which is only about 6 weeks old it lags my loading time (sometimes causing the game to crash) Lags the game and it just doesn't seem to work! As soon as I remove the mods the issues are resolved :( I have tried mods many times same issues each time :(

Why are these feature not added in general on ark? That is awesome! :) Like it

Hello everyone!

I would like to submit my entry for this week's ARKitect contest: The Redwood Treehouse Castle

It is a very fun, fanciful, and elaborate build using the recently introduced metal tree platforms in the new redwood biome.

This build was done on the IronMine vanilla survival pve server. All resources were gathered by player or dino and the admin fly command was not used in the building.

In addition to the nine minute showcase tour linked above, I also uploaded a much longer step by step tutorial of how to build it in parts 1 and 2 below that are approx 1/2 hour each.

I hope you all enjoy it!

Hi Folks,

I'd like to submit my recently completed project into the ARKitect contest: Our New Starter Village - built on an Official Hardcore PvP Server - We built this as housing for new starters to the server so that people interested in Hardcore have a foothold to get themselves established.

A couple of screenshots:

An album of the build is visible here: http://imgur.com/gallery/sX0jl. As we're on official this is with 1x gather rates, no mods, no admin commands. :)

What's crackin' geeks? I'm submitting an entry for ARKVideo that suits those of you still swept off your feet by the beauty of the Redwoods. In the video I tour you around a village built among the mighty trees. Here it is!

I'm UniteTheClans and I play on the IronMine server! I'm joined on there by some past ARKVideo award winners and Treehouse Castle builder Monkeypuzzle (see above)--in fact I finish this episode of my Let's Play by visiting his first treehouse build!

Back to the point, when our crew kicked off this current season (long before I joined them) they chose to build our homebase in The Maw and a village was slowly formed on a hill near the center of The Island map. As new members joined the server the village grew with more and more builds, but we began to worry when the border of the planned redwood biome cut through the middle of town, leaving most of our houses and shops on the red side. When the Redwoods arrived a couple weeks ago and instead of wiping all our buildings off the map, the Redwood biome blended perfectly with what we had already constructed. Please enjoy my Redwood Village tour!

I can back that up. I play with Monkey and he has been working double overtime on the castle build. First guy on the server, last guy off this week!
