The linked storage box is a game changer for farming

Quick explanation of the LSB for any uninitiated parties:

Its a 50 slot box about the size of a small wooden storage box. It requires power. Once powered you can place one down and then a second in another location. The boxes will then share inventory as in something placed in box A can be removed from box B.

My current set up on Ab official is a main base hidden in the hazard zone and an outpost hidden in the blue zone. Previously I would have to put on a hazard suit on and travel between bases to transfer items or materials. It was a pain even with the cosmo.

Now with the LSB, I have one placed in the main and one in the outpost. I put Mr Anky (podded) and a chainsaw in the main LSB and fast travel to the outpost where I toss him out to farm. The 50 slot LSB allows me to farm 24 stacks of metal and 24 stacks of wood (exactly 2 forges worth), along with the anky and chainsaw.

Once the box is loaded I fast travel to main base and unload the box, which I have conveniently park next to 2 forges. It saves SO MUCH time and effort. I flipping love it.

Anyone else using these amazing little contraptions?

My next mission is to craft the robot butler and see if I can configure him to unload the boxes into the forges WHILE I'm farming.

It can be good at early game if you dont have teleporter, but imo it has a bad design when used for farming, given that you cannot drop items fast with O key like in other containers, which make the process of unloading the linked storage a tedious task.

I agree that it should have that same O key functionality, but if you place the storage box next to whatever container you want to dump the materials into, its still a breeze to offload. Mine is sandwiched in-between 2 forges and a materials vault, all which I can reach standing in one spot.

My character has 600 weight and it only takes me like 30-40 seconds to offload all the aforementioned materials into my 2 forges.

We have the robot for that now, and it's very efficient for that task. My robot is always in Butler mode, and it unloads the linked storage into forges and dedicated tek storages, sorting the resources. It also unloads the forges into storages when metal is smelt. Same for the grinder.

Yes it works, but of course if your base is in stasis when you farm, nothing happens. But as soon as its area is active, your robot will do its tasks.

Very cool. Thanks for confirming it works.

My network has been expanded to the fertile lake for angler deployment. Feels good sending a slot capped storage box of pearls back to main base.

I cant imagine farming without this system. Its gonna be the first thing I try to establish on a new map from now on.

Im sure its a godsend for transfering loot back home after a raid as well.
