Bad frametimes with FSR 3 frame gen

If you are a PC player with AMD card use the following settings as a guide to get the image quality back close to pre-Aberration release.

Fluid Frames - AMD Frame Gen
FSR3 - AMD frame prediction

These are two independent systems that do two different things but they can work together. However, certain settings have to be on or enabled for the systems to engage. I spent quite a bit of time trying to find the best settings post Aberration up date and below is what I found. Wild Card removed a feature from the game that set all this off and now the performance to quality is at least for me back to ASA initial release stats. Hopefully they fix this soon and the MASSIVE lag brought on by the recent Aberration update, on ALL maps.

For reference my setup is 5800X3D with 32GB 3600Mhz Ram and AMD Sapphire Pulse 7900XTX 24GB VRAM.

In Driver Menu

Latest AMD Driver (24.8.1 OR 24.20.11.01 (FF2 Beta))
Fluid Frames - On (Works fine in Windowed Fullscreen.)
FSR - On (Turn on AMD FSR up-scaling in the AMD driver program under global. Set the tied sharpening to 95%, (My preference))
Anti-Lag - On

In-Game:
Set in game resolution one setting lower than native monitor resolution.
Set game to "WindowedFullscreen"
VSync - On in ASA, left alone in driver.
Capped frames at 144 since that was my previous achievable max. (Your cap might vary depending on monitor and GPU)

AMD Fluid Frames, (Frame Gen) says it only works Exclusive Full Screen but that's not true. It works fine in window mode as well.

Set game to High preset.
Motion Blur - Off
Bloom - Off
Light Shafts - Off
Foliage Interaction - Off
Foot steps, Decals and Particles - Off
Disable HLOD - On (Also turn off "menu transitions")

Advanced Graphics - Med
View Distance - Medium (Depends on VRAM)
Textures - Epic (Depends on VRAM)
Post Processing - Medium
General Shadows - High
Global Illum. - High
Effects - High
Foliage - High

These following options can be saved in the Engine.ini config file so they reapply on game startup.

r.FidelityFX.FSR3.Enabled 1 - (FSR3 Enabled)

r.FidelityFX.FI.Enabled 1 - (AMD Frame Interpolation)

Disabling the FOG and Clouds. (Optional)
r.volumetricfog 0
r.volumetriccloud 0

Copy and Paste to Engine.ini file. Remove the "- Optional" for any command you wish to keep in play.

r.volumetricfog 0 - Optional

At least for my setup the changes they just made with Abb release is a full revision of performance back to that of the release. Some AMD users are also getting the crashing again that they once were on release as well. I also recommend that on AMD PC you delete the file, "GameUserSetting.ini and launch the game to get it back to defaults. Be warned they save your waypoints in this file so open the file before deleting it and copy your way points to put back into the default file.

For checking if everything is working use Alt+R to open the AMD overlay and check that driver setting show active. For checking in game what is functional and the FPS use <stat FPS> in the  Ark console.

Example Waypoint: They are listed after the HDRDisplayOutputNits=1000 line in the following file, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings.ini

SavedMinimapMarks=(Name="Admin Base",CustomTag="Waypoint2",Location=(X=-485547.854005,Y=83301.322338,Z=138.658693),Color=(R=0.000000,G=0.000000,B=1.000000,A=1.000000),ID=232,MarkIcon=/Script/Engine.Texture2D'"/Game/PrimalEarth/UI/Textures/T_UI_HUDPointOfInterest_Location.T_UI_HUDPointOfInterest_Location"',MapName="Forglar_WP",bIsShowing=False,IconColor=(R=1.000000,G=1.000000,B=1.000000,A=1.000000),bIsShowingText=True,CharacterID=-1,CharacterIsPlayer=False)
