While the Yi Ling is a fine addition to ASA, I think I can agree with most people that it might not be a perfect fit for AB. However, we always can't judge a book by its cover. When AB and Yi Ling come out, I think it's best to test it out before we judge it accordingly.

I just feel the fact that we shouldn't always jump to conclusions.

while im excited for the new creature for aberation, i feel like its just an advanced deinonychus, so may not be as special. hopefully its fun!

So just like the pyromane was a rip off of the shadowmane I bet the yi ling is just gonna be a rip off of the deinonychus with the same animations just like the pyromane was with the shadowmane.

When the design was initially unveiled it looked as though they’d just be using whatever skeleton rig they had for the terror bird. Either is plausible. Still a shame it beat out of maevia but hey, not like I’ll ever get to play with either creature.

... Is no one gonna talk about how there are 3 of them, showing its a pack animal? I might have pissed I little when I saw this, after reading how terrifying they are in the dossier. just a pack of these, shooting razor sharp feather missiles at you.

(EDIT) Also I was chilling and I thought y'all might want to see this. it made me cry the first time listening ;-;

(ANOTHER EDIT) They also have songs for all the other mapps from ASE, like Genisis 1 & 2, extinction, etc.

(FINAL EDIT) ARK PLEASE HIGHHLIGHT THIS ON COMMUNITY CRUNCH! NERDOUT WORKED HARD ON THIS AND THEY DESERVE IT!!! They make the scenes and write the songs from scratch. and they even make their songs about the story of ark! like for their genesis pt 2 song "One Last Ride" the lyrics say " Servhin for salvation, made it out alive" its talking about the genesis starship, searching for a new planet and how it barely escaped Earth's destruction without the element infecting it. and that's all the story you get! I know its kinda weird, but seriously. they've been making these for years and their songs are absolutly amazing. I would be surprised if it takes months to make these videos. AND NO IM NOT A MEMBER OF NERDOUT! (my voice is not nearly good enough to sing like that) Ok. rant over. why are you still here? IM DONE. OK BYE!!!

In the beginning I was not a big fun of that creature, but that design looks really interesting now. Creature have body of argentavis and wings like desmodus\onyc. Already interesting to see it in the game!

I've seen a handful of comics praising the devs for adjusting the look of the Yi Ling, I have to give my two cents:

I personally like all the designs I've seen. The original design by the person who submitted it. The original artwork submitted by the devs. And this new piece.

But my two cents on all the comments saying the original art by the devs is bad: I don't agree, and here's why. Many of the creatures on the Arks are genetically engineered. They're larger or smaller than their original counterparts, or they have features specifically designed to give them utility in their environment. The Morellatops being an example; how many real-world camels can you extract the water from without harming them?

Anyway, my point being, the original Ark-dev depiciton of the Yi Ling was cool to me because it looked like someone took the Dodo, one of the most helpless creatures on any Ark (right alongside the Lystrosaurus and the Diplodocus), and gave it a delightfully savage look.

That said, I also like the longer tail on the current design because a gliding creature should have a long tail for balance reasons.

Not trying to insult anyone. Just my two cents.
