Bring Back Old Cryopod Mechanics

Suggestion

Please bring back old Cryopod Mechanics, at least for pve. There are so many cryo fridges placed throughout the map that just cause lag and clutter. Please remove the new cryopod gimmick and give us the old one to avoid this issue. Pvers cannot break other players structures, so we just have a bazillion cryo fridges everywhere.

Glad it works for you for pvp, but for pve it doesn’t make sense.  All they’ve done is make the game less enjoyable for pve players.  Cryofridges placed all over the map is just clutter, no different than someone putting pillars everywhere.

Dear Wildcard,

We want to express our appreciation for the cryo-pods upon their release. However, we cannot help but feel disheartened by the lack of freedom provided to PVE players in terms of deploying dinos in any location. While we understand the reasoning behind this decision from a PVP player perspective, it has made gameplay significantly challenging for all players.

The inability to deploy dinos out of cryos where we need them, especially during server transfers and boss fights, has created immense difficulties. We are hesitant to transfer servers due to the fear of spawning in a precarious situation with important items on us and loosing those items

The current whistle follow command is not always effective when navigating obstacles and terrains when the dinos are following and 90% get stuck. This limitation has also posed significant challenges for small tribes like ours, and many others making it nearly impossible to effectively manage 20 dinos during boss fights and to go do a server transfer for trading items with other tribes and hinders the community. We urge you to consider allowing the deployment of dinos at any obelisk area, regardless of the player's proximity to a cryo fridge. This solution would not only enhance gameplay but also alleviate the issue of excessive small building spam around obelisk areas in which many tribes have had to resort doing to be able to do boss fights. 

We kindly request that you take our concerns into consideration and make the necessary adjustments to ensure a more enjoyable and balanced gameplay experience for all players. If any questions or comments are welcome, we love the game and want great success but the player database is dropping by the days.

They were, however there’s no guarantee that they’ll bring back the old mechanic when ext releases.

also, even if they do, extinction is coming in over a year at the earliest, which means a minimum of 12 months suffering on pve with all these cryo stations littering the map

Alot of PVE servers share things like when you trap a good bug you let others use it. when you set up public tp at all the caves so people can easily get artifacts ect. not being able to unpod dinos at these public spaces just leads to far too many needless structures around the map. As the title suggests I propose if we are going to be keeping the new unpod range that we atleast make it so we can unpod near other tribes fridges or atleast near unlocked fridges.

This is a great post.

As has been said, the cryo change hoses pve players and caves.  Wildcard could easily plant structures around the map that would enable cryopod use nearby.  These structures could even use the terminal graphic.  They could be turned off or on for the entire server with a simple setting.  Perfect for pve servers.  That's what I'd suggest.

I am sure this has been hashed out thousands of times but please consider making cryopods free to throw in the open world without a cryofridge. Keep the changes around throwing them near enemy structures. As a solo or duo player these cryo changes severely limit the exploration that ark prides itself with. Further more this has resulted in hundreds of cryofridges plastered all over the maps by alpha tribes. The cryopod changes alone have kept me away from official small tribes and by the looks of the server pops a lot of other people feel the same way. Please consider it.

Hey guys !

PLEASE bring the old cryopods back. It's a shame that we cannot use our dinos on the other side of the map, because we can't put a cryofridge due to pilars everywhere. What is the point of cryopods, then ? I can't do a run into a cave with a thyla anymore, because i can't use a cryopod in there. Please, bring the old system back.

So many whiners that are whining about the changes to Cryopods for ARK Ascended. If you are really that desperate, just play the OG ARK or on an unofficial server with the Cryofridge requirement disabled.

Cryopods were added early to ARK Ascended because servers were hitting the global tame cap. They will be reverted back to their original state when Extinction is released!

This is coming from a player who still refuses to play ARK Ascended. Meaning I CAN wait until Extinction, and, even if I do, in fact, start ARK Ascended, I will NEVER play on official servers (have you seen how many cheaters there are!?!)
