Do you guys see this going in the way of rust and conan exiles  with skins i really could see them adding cosmetic packs to help fund the game  wouldnt be mad at longneck skins, crossbow skins, etc

I think it might be problematic for people who use visual confirmation to verify other's gear in pvp. but i don't really play pvp so i dunno. I am ok with it if there is a market for it

I always hated when people had the bone dragon skin. It made them really hard to see and track. Big time advantage in PvP.

I'd be fine with player skins though, as long as they didnt offer a distinct advantage like the bone wyv skin.

In rust, there's different skins for different armor types, so if ark went the same direction a player could still be able to identify what armor someone has provided they know that particular skin.

to a limited extent we already have it for gear.  hawian shirt, the skins for helmets.  however it always felt like an afterthought.  if they came out with a DLC pack for some themed skins i would be very tempted and would probably purchase it.

Fallout 76. You have no idea how many atoms I've spent on wallpaper. I want wallpaper and other nicknacks. Especially decorations that reflect the things i have done while playing.

I doubt that wildcard would allow monetized skins to become a thing.
