Deinocheirus (DUCK KING OR TERRIBLE CLAW)

Suggestion

First of all, id like to credit both   Sasquatch69   and   Xgaming08   for their submissions of this creature in previous votes and thank you for the ideas

What i want this creature to be is a large tanky, herbivorous, theri like dino that will overtake the theri as it is very commonly used in dragon boss battles because it is a herbivore that takes less damage from the dragon. overall though it would be all-round dino with good material collection like the theri, ok dps but with high health and damage reduction.

The deinocheirus was around 6000 - 7000 kilograms (around 2k less than an average rex), although i would like it to be more spino sized.

it could be a real TANK due to its large size and bulkiness, less damage from attacks and has a substantial amount of health.

it could have high range due to its lengthy arms.

it wouldn't do crazy damage against most dinos, maybe a boost against flyers.

It could have a special damage boost against bases/structures, useful for multiplayer servers and SOTF.

It would be slow considering its size and its short legs.

most projectiles wouldnt do as much damage or torpor due to its thick fur and skin. (around 50% damage)

Due to its large size it could carry A LOT of weight making it a mobile large storage box.

it could have a water buff like the spino as they lived near swamps and damp places.

If you try to tame it while it has a child or egg around it will be aggressive, however it will usually be passive.

The dino was known to love water and eat fish so how about having a fish trap like ability where it sinks its claws into the water and waits for fish to pass, it could also stab small aquatic creatures  in a single swipe for a quick feed.

its attacks could be:

1) simple bite: a pretty standard attack that can harvest berries from bushes with its mouth, wood from trees and hide from bodies.

2) claw swipe: a more brutal attack that can cause bleed as well as having fibre, thatch and meat harvesting capabilities.

3) body slam: An extremely powerful attack with a cool down that Involves a jump and a wwe style move that deals massive damage, stun, aswell as dismounting.

    OR

4) tail whip: a swing of the tail that creates a loud whip crack, stunning nearby dinos and grounding close flyers (more fit for sauropods but cool idea)

We really need more useful herbivores/omnivores in ark rather than just for collecting resources, this dino would be used as much as the usual carnivore

Good luck to all creature submissions!!

I think we should have the Deinocheirus our next Dinosaur. This creature´s beak are used to scoop up leeches and other fish! In addition this creature will live in the the top right and  as well as 20,60 in longitude and latitude. This Dinosaur will be like the Therizinosaurus but instead of hitting you with claws it will slap you with its beak and it will spit giant mud bricks or adobe at you.( This is the dossier concept that I think is appropriate for this creature.) Also Have an amazing day :).

The deinocheirus is like a theri and spino bur better.

it gathers wood at a decent rate.

fish at a astonishing rate along with white and black pearls. This guys use will mainly be for beep sea travel but can also be for wood or cave exploration, this is because the deinocheirus would get ignored by most creatures. Taking is like a carcha but you can only kill fish. It would only spawn where Griffin's spawn or swamps. The saddle would be a walking mortar and pestle.

Deinocheirus was a large herbivorous dinosaur. Right now, ark does not contain a lot of large herbivorous powerhouse. This still fulfills the role of a powerhouse that the community craves. (just pls let a herbivore win)image.png.333a548c2a148e6426c054d2cf639696.png

Deinocheirus will be skilled at finding unique seeds amongst vegetation. These seeds will range in capabilities from decorative, to defense driven plants (something similar to plant species x+y).

Deinocheirus is notable in that it is a very skilled rex-sized fighter that can chop enemies to bits. It's behavior will be similar to that of a therizino, wandering around and killing anything that gets too close. The difference being that it will take long naps during the night to calm itself.

Deinocheirus will eat pretty much anything from veggies to berries, and from thatch to fiber. Eating fiber and thatch would NOT immediately fill it up, but they would heal more over time, fill it up more over time, and increase the rate of feces produced as well as change it from medium to large.

Dossier:

Wild:

Deinocheirus bestinterfectorem

Deinocheirus is a mountain of a beast! I've only seen a few which were laden with saddle bags, bringing back bundles of seeds! Much like an Iguanodon, Deinocheirus has a certain affinity for them, seeming keen to eat them, or to have a new generation planted!

Other than its more friendly looking exterior (they're soooo cute!), and their love of vegetation, Deinocheirus is highly aggressive! I've seen survivors racked with grief from seeing friends being mauled by these beasts! And it's not just survivors either...

Domesticated:

Deinocheirus can be a great ally to those who can knock one out and befriend it! I've seen older Deinocheirus take on a full sized rex! The power of an angry herbivore should not be underestimated.

Abilities:

Deinocheirus would have a couple of simple melee attacks: a light swing, a heavy swing and a bite. The dinosaur would be less influenced by the different types of attacks it can do, and moreso by what it ate last. Fiber and thatch would make it hit harder. Berries would give a small speed boost to movement (30 seconds of really fast movement). Veggies would increase attack and movement speed. seeds of any type would cause it to gain some temporary armor. Veggie cake would cause it to gain all other benefits. Stimulant would cause a frenzy, switching the heavy attack to a high dps with wide area of effect.

Other ideas:

It would be cool if the saddle looked like a modern day camels saddle, with lots of bags and carpets:Camel Humps Saddle - Free image on Pixabay - Pixabay

The color scheme could be similar to that of a heron, but with that big duck bill it has:Grey heron - Wikipedia

Spawn would be in the swamp of the damned, the northern swamp, swamp, the dark waters and sw tropics.

Deinocheirus

Deinocheirus Mirificus

Omnivorous

Neutral aggression

Abilities

The large arms of Deinocheirus are strong enough to lift up a variety of creatures, such as dodos or raptors. Resources may get stuck in Deinocheirus' tail as it walks. It may also pick up valuable loot like rare tools or ammunition that it finds in the dirt with its sweeping tail. When Deinocheirus feels threatened, it stands tall to scare away its possible predators. Like the Megatherium, Deinocheirus receives a buff from killing insects, its favourite food.

Wild

Spawning in the swamps and rivers of Ragnarok, Deinocheirus' thick fur is the perfect breeding place for leeches, perhaps removing these will let you gain their trust? Growing to be near the size of the Rex, this gentle giant has almost no predators on the ARK. Deinocheirus has large vocal chords located in the rubbery pouch on its neck, allowing it to scare away medium sized creatures like the Carnotaurus or Allosaurus with a clicking sound.

Taming

Despite sharing a close habitat with leeches, Deinocheirus is irritated by the leeches that cling to its skin. Removing these leeches using multiple doses of bug repellent along with medical brews to heal it back to full health may allow you to reverse the damage done by the parasites. Once fully healed, Deinocheirus may be persuaded join you on your adventures.

In-Depth Information on Deinocheirus

Spawning + related abilities

Deinocheirus will spawn commonly in the swamps of Ragnarok and sometimes along the rivers of the map. Wild Deinocheirus will have moss coating its fur from sitting in the swamp and water for a long time, which decays overtime and turns into a fertilizer-like substance. Tamed Deinocheirus do not have moss covering their back; however, you can leave your bred Deinocheirus in semi-deep water and moss will grow over its fur, the speed it grows is affected by the 'crop growth speed' of the server you are playing on.

Taming

Higher level Deinocheirus are home to larger amounts of leeches compared to lower levels, for example, lower levels might be home for 2-5, while higher levels may be home from 15-20 leeches. One dose of Bug repellent kills between 2-4 leeches on the Deinocheirus, meaning a high level may take up to 10 doses. The leeches that live on the Deinocheirus have been draining its health over time, higher levels having more health drained. You will be able to feed the Deinocheirus medical brews to heal it back to full health, where it will be tamed. Using Daeodons or Snow Owls will not work on the Deinocheirus.

Intimidation Display + Bug Buff

The Deinocheirus has the ability to intimidate and scare off larger carnivores, such as the Rex or Spinosaurus but not the Giganotosaurus or other apex predators. It does this by standing up straight, to appear bigger than it is, and by showing off Therizinosaurus-like claws. While this also works on small and medium sized creatures, the Deinocheirus will not waste energy on doing the intimidation display on them, instead it will use its large vocal cords to deliver a eerie clicking to scare them away.  The Deinocheirus also gains a buff upon killing insects, like the Megatherium, but it will not become enraged while in the presence of them.

Finding loot

As the Deinocheirus walks, the fur hanging from its tail will sweep dirt, sand, and rocks out of the way, causing lost tools and resources to be collected over time. The loot is random for every Deinocheirus, no matter the level, however, the Leopleurodon buff may affect your chances. The Deinocheirus will be proficient in gathering a multitude of resources by hand, such as thatch, fiber, berries and chitin.

Saddle

Deinocheirus' saddle will be unlocked at level 74 (same as the Rex) and will provide 25 Armour. You can find Deinocheirus Saddle blueprints in red drops. Its saddle will cost:

400x Hide

260x Fiber

50x Metal

150x Chitin/Keratin

Final Thoughts

This is our submission for Deinocheirus to be added to the Ragnarok map in Ark: Survival Ascended. We put in a lot of thought for Deinocheirus think that players would love this dinosaur and that it would be a perfect addition to the map. It would be very appreciated if you vote for this creature, even if we don't win the vote, we will be back for future creature submissions for another shot 😄

Much love from Keihanaikukaua and KingNexus ❤️
