The Dragons Maw; XBOX ARK Dedicated Server, RP, Quests, Boosted world stats!

Recommended Posts

Host GT: "The Dragons Maw" on xbox for easy access to server!

The Dragons Maw is an ARK: Survival Evolved Primitive+ player dedicated server intent on making the already active life and world even more dynamic. Faster resource gathering, taming, events and PC "NPC" interaction resulting in dangerous quests and great rewards.

Details of the world:

The Divine have been destroyed, their bodies falling to the ground to spread as magical seeds. These seeds grew into amazing beings whom have declared themselves the Dragon Lords who claim domain over the open sky. They have taken the magic granted to them in their birth and taken dinosaurs and crafted them into winged beasts. These Dragon Lords roam the skies and spread their evil magic in the world, creating dragons to wreak havoc.

NPC's:

The Dragon Lords: The Dragon Lords are malevolent forces of evil in the world of the Dragons Maw. These beings rule the open skies, holding dominion over that which lays above the tallest of tree tops. Only occasionally do they venture near the surface, either to build nests, or to hunt for food. The Dragon Lords kill on a whim, anything to satisfy their hunger. Those who are worthy may complete quests for their chance to gain access to their own dragons.

The Dragon Lord Dominion: The Dragon Lords claim the open sky as their own, fiercely defending it from intruders. The Dragon Lords deem anything above the rock spires to be theirs; that which is below the tree line has a much better chance of escaping their sight and are generally viewed as a waste of energy.

Nests: The Dragon Lords occasionally build Nests, or bases throughout the world. These Nests can usually be found on top of mountains, but some are located on the ground floor. These "Nests" provide the Dragon Lords with resting and resupply bases. Some bases are unguarded (newbie type missions) but the larger ones are usually guarded by a dragon (possibly the Dragon Lords themselves if under construction), so come prepared; they protect their treasure well!

Hunting for food: If their hunger drives them to it, the Dragon Lords will hunt along the ground; nothing is safe in their wake. Bases usually offer the best access to easy food. The easier it is for the Dragon Lords to feed themselves and their pets, the sooner they will return to the skies. Sacrificial spires have been built by some to quicken this menaces return to the heavens.

Sacrificial Spires: Sacrificial spires are buildings that survivors build to appease the Dragon Lords and convince them to go on their way. These tall structures are to be made of wood at a minimum (one foundation with walls on each side going at least 10 walls high). Tamed creatures of medium size or larger are kept at these spires (On passive) so the Dragon Lords may feast and quickly leave. If no sacrifice is found at the spire, the Dragon Lords may go searching elsewhere in the base for possible meals. Elaborate spires and sacrifices are often rewarded by the Dragon Lords who take pleasure in the feast. (Sacrifices are based on level and size of base being searched, a low lever player who offers a dodo will not be punished because they can't tame anything higher. If the base being searched has the ability to tame a medium size creature and simply has not is liable for attack). On that same note, if you have a large base (have behemoth gates) with a large amount of tames the Dragon Lords will expect a larger sacrifice, minimum size for large base/many tames is one large size dino, or 3 medium.

Hatching your own egg: The Dragon Lords relish in seeing others rise to strength and power. Those who have proved themselves to have mastered their environment may beseech the Dragon Lords for their own beast. This is no easy task and may require a tribe to achieve the glory of one of their members being paired to a dragon. To request a pairing with a dragon a great feat must be undertaken; to begin the quest at least one member of a tribe must be max level and each of the worlds artifacts must be built atop the survivor/tribes sacrificial spire, (this means a larger spire must be built).

Those who become paired with a dragon enter into a truce with the Dragon Lords, neither will attack the other. If an attack does occur it will be fight to the death and the truce broken. If a tribe has a member who is paired with a dragon, the whole tribe enjoys the safety of the truce *Allies are not included*. *Please remember this is a game, accidents are UN-avoidable, if reparations are made promptly, it will be forgotten on both sides*

The Dragon Lords; Plain Talk: The Dragon Lord are PC "NPC's" who ride wyverns, and in all interactions in game are to be considered as a high level enemy/dino. One can expect much the same treatment from the Dragon Lords as they would an intelligent Giga. The Dragon Lords will attack bases that do not leave sacrifices. This means tames and buildings may be comprised; as one would expect from a T-rex. Sacrificial Spires will prevent base/tame destruction but the Dragon Lords will defend from aggressive dinos/defenses. If you have a large base, 5 Gigas and a perimeter of behemoth gates your sacrifice must be larger than a smaller tribe. The Dragon Lords are able to be killed, as are their dragons and this is encouraged. This WILL NOT be an easy task and should be given the same caution as one would give attacking another established tribe or a world boss.

Wild Dragons: With their magical ability the Dragon Lords are placing their beloved children throughout the world. These "wild" dragons roam and devour all they see paying allegiance to none but themselves. Only the brave and powerful should attempt to kill these beasts; while they are devastating, they contain great treasure.

Red Dragon: Usually found high in the mountains.

Black Dragon: Usually found in the swamp.

Blue Dragon: Usually found on the water.

Green Dragon: Usually found in forests.

White Dragon: Usually found in snowy regions.

The Server; Plain talk:
Please remember the game is still in beta and the admins can only do so much. Please message The Dragons Maw only, and we will assist as able.

Messages sent to personal accounts will be ignored. And possibly blocked.

The (admins) are real people with real jobs. We enjoy playing the game and providing fun for others. ADMIN's will only step into a situation if it involves server issues.

The Dragon Lords: The Dragon Lords will not attack logged off players, but may attack LARGE bases at all times (If you have 10+ dinos or a base completely enclosed with behemoth gates, auto turrets, etc. your base is open to offline attacks *unless you have a stocked sacrificial spire*).

Issues: Any issues message “The Dragons Maw”.
Tell all your friends!

The Gods are the admins and act as GM's (gamemasters, i.e. pathfinder/dungeons and dragons style) for the world. Providing periodic quests, missions and in world interaction. No one has to follow a God or even speak with them if they do not wish. The server has roughly 12 people on it, with varied playing times. You just need to add "The Dragons Maw" as an xbox friend and you can easily join and play from the "join game" section when selecting a friend.

As far as "How do you prevent players from not "playing along?". I am unsure of the context for the questions. If you are referencing "playing along" with the quests and roleplay of the world; that is entirely up to the player to choose their level of involvement. If you are referencing people playing nice with each other, that is left entirely up to the players as well, the Gods(admins) will only interfere if there is undue harassment being inflicted.

Thank you very much. Are we able to upload survivors? I have a roleplay character in storage.

No there will be no down loads allowed. As we do not want a new member to ruin it with unobtainable dinos on this server and over power those who wish to build this world a new.

Hey I added your gt but I couldn't join the game....Not sure what's going on my gt is Wurzelnator can you help?

Glad we were able to settle this and you have been enjoying yourself.

This world is evolving greatly. The player town, Falkreath, is developing quickly with the most recent addition being a pub.

As a reminder the crucible will be opening in 3 days, be prepared if you plan on entry.

The followers of all gods continue to help shape this world as well as those who chose none.

I can't join and I've literally done everything to join.

We appologies for the problems. There is a reported developer issue wich causes this for some players. Unfortunately it is out of our hands.

Battleship build Competition

The Dragons Maw is holding a weeklong Battleship Building Event. This is where players build a battleship of their choice to be judged on looks and survivability, or both. All ships will be eligible for judges choice awards, only battle competitors are eligible for Grand Prize!

*****RULES*****

No Dino's

Competitions will take pace in the South Tropical Island Cove on Saturday the 9th at 4pm AKST

Competition ships are not allowed to be attacked before battle day. Put signs around the ship stating the ship is for competition to prevent attack. Prior sabotage will not be tolerated.

Competition ships may not move before competion day. (MINOR movements for building purposes permitted)

Only One entry per tribe, no temporary tribe splitting permitted

Only two tribe mates may enter the battle competion

Only ship weapony and melee combat allowed; manned turrets, cannons, plant X, auto turrets allowed. No personal fire arms    allowed (crossbow with grappling hook for boarding is permitted)

Ships must stay in battle boundries (South Tropical Island Cove) leaving will mean disqualification.

Bystanders (observers) may not participate or aid in any way

If boarding a ship to fight, you must go back to your own ship before boarding another

If your ship is destroyed you are out of the competition. (beds on ships are allowed)

Prior to battle all items turned off/sleep/passive

****Any breaking of rules means disqualification****

Judges Choice Competion

All ships will form a line to be inspected by the judges. Each judge will choose their favorites, granting a prize to them. High participation will result in a grander prize that will be granted to the ship who outshines their peers and is declared best in show.

Battle Competition

After the judges choice competition all ships who do not wish to partake in the battle will exit the cove. Those participating will be directed to individual start positions. On the announcement to start each ship will fight until only one ship remains. Either through cannon/ballista/etc or boarding actions from ship to ship, your strategy is up to you.

Start building and ready the sails!
