Archaeoceratops Falliciter - the multi purpose shoulder pet

Dossier text:

Wild

Archaeoceratops is a skittish little herbivore found in areas with high density of shrubbery. They can be found gathering food or silk, which they make nests out of. While they don't seem to possess any natural defenses, they do have a powerful larynx that allows them to accurately mimic sounds. This, combined with their size and appearance, allows them to pose as baby ceratopsians, guaranteeing free protection!

Tamed

Archaeoceratops can be passively tamed, either with berries or silk, the latter being more effective. Once tamed, they can harvest silk and call large wild ceratopsians to battle, and buffing tamed ones. Additionally, they have a flap of skin behind their frill, which can be expanded to scare attacking herbivores. They also make for cute shoulder pets.

Uses:

Archaeoceratops will be able to be placed as a shoulder pet on the survivor's back. They have three distinct functionalities. The first is that they are highly adept at gathering silk, better than a sickle. They can also sort fiber into small amounts of silk. Their second ability is that they will have a flap of skin behind their frill, and on command (by using a particular emote) they will extend this flap and make a screeching noise. This will scare away any herbivore (will have no effect on carnivores whatsoever), whether aggressive or passive at any given moment. This functionality was created due to players hatred to brontosaurs and other herbivores climbing on their builds, and provides a safe and fast way of removing these creatures from your base without needing a rex or other strong creature to kill them. It was also added because of how frustrating it is to accidentally attack a herbivore and anger it (I have angered brontos several times on accident and got killed by most of them). This screech also causes pegomastax and ichthyornis to drop all items they have stolen. Their third use is a noise (activated by a particular emote) that mimics the sound of a baby triceratops, which temporarily calls wild nearby ceratopsians to your aid, including variants of them. This also gives a tremendous buff to nearby tamed ceratopsians.

Taming:

Archaeoceratops are passive tames, and are tamed similarly to mesopithecus, where the player must feed them berries, but they will flee and lose taming progress if the survivor touches them. Silk works as a taming "food", and gives tremendous progress to the taming bar. Occasionally, wild archaeoceratops will drop silk, allowing players to get it even on maps that do not have silk (used to make taming quicker).

Wild behavior:

Archaeoceratops will wander about peacefully, occasionally harvesting bushes. If attacked, they will run away, and call wild nearby ceratopsians to their aid. Has no effect on tamed ceratopsians. If a player is near, they may drop silk. If the player picks up the silk, the archaeoceratops will flee and call wild nearby ceratopsians to battle.

Notes:

Falliciter is Latin for "trickster", which sums up the use of archaeoceratops's baby trike mimicry.

Archaeoceratops Falliciter is based off of the real-life creature archaeoceratops oshimai.

Its silk harvesting ability is a reference to when the skeleton was found, during the SIno-Japanese Silk Road Dinosaur Expedition.
