If on your journey you want a trex but dont have enough trangs then steal a trex egg with this creature and maybe it will be fertilized.

Dont worry about using trangs with the Nothosaurus its a passive tame. Feed it eggs to tame it but be warned it loves fish so much that it will attack you if you have fish in your inventory.

The Nothosaurus is truly great for traveling semi fast on land but also an even faster swimmer. the saddle on its back has a bar for you to hold on to while under water and when it launch its self out of the water.

The Nothosaurus usally dives down into the water and launches it self into the air all thow we dont really know what this does for the creature we assume its a form of fun.

The Nothosaurus would usally be lazing around on the edge of the water this would provide relaxation and would make the creature regain its stamina much faster.

Dont worry about oxygen when swimming the Nothosaurus will provide oxygen bubbles for you but be warned it can only provide them for around 2 minutes

The best travel buddy you could have.

Extra: I have seen that people think the ability makes it so you dont have to tame any creatures ever again you would be wrong as i have stated that a wild egg would have a chance. Say a wild dodo egg has a 60% chance to be fertilized and a wild trex egg has a 10% chance to be fertilized the percentage will be lower depending on the creature. If you have a tamed creature lay a non fertilized egg the nothosaurus cant make it fertilized because thats not its abilty the abilty is to find wild fertilized eggs from wild dinos.

This would make the game more immersive and explain why wild eggs cant be fertilized besides rock drakes and wyverns and etc. They are protected by there kind so theres no need to hide them.

Hope this makes the abilty more clear

Nothosaurus Cheldrya is a large semi-aquatic reptile that lives in the rivers and swamps of the Arks environment, these ambush predators are surprisingly quick sprinters (with poor stamina) and of course competent swimmers, with speed rivaling that of a Kaprosuchus, though most interesting about these predators is the method in which they snare their prey.

Nothosaurus will wait, just below the water's surface, until prey is within range of its long, barbed tongue, before launching itself, and its tongue towards its prey, dragging it back into its jaws.

Domesticated

Survivors often find Nothosaurus to be a solid combat/travel mount, with its low to the ground build and mottled skin it can easily camouflage into the arks jungles and swamps, allowing it to hide and launch surprise attacks from both water and jungle edge. Some clever survivors have used Nothosaurus’s ability to snatch smaller prey up with its tongue to dismount enemy riders, often reeling them into a bone-crushing bite.

While some survivors might use Nothosaurus as more of a semi-aquatic scout, with its saddle allowing a rider to lay down, keeping them low to the water, and harder to spot then the strange sitting position that most riders take on similar creatures, such as the Sarcosuchus.

Nothosaurus also has a unique defense mechanism, when threatened by its rival, or a bigger predator such as a spinosaurus, it will gather water in its snout, and using its powerful lungs spray the water into the air, creating a thick mist to confuse and disorient its predator while it makes its getaway into the murky waters of the swamp.

Taming

Wild Nothosaurus are lazy predators, often basking in the warm sun with its jaws wide open. To tame a wild Nothosaurus a survivor must provide it with a small prey item, or its favorite food, piranha, already dead, then place this dead body into its open jaws.

Non-Dossier information:

I believe that ark deserves a true ambush specialist, something like what the Kaprosuchus was supposed to be, so I figured Nothosaurus would make an excellent creature for this.

Abilities: The mist would be simple enough, allow the creature to essentially create the smoke grenade effect, and highlight creatures inside the mist while you’re mounted on the create.

Tongue grab: similar to the blood stalker just shorter range, with a larger creature range. Perhaps allow the Nothosaurus to actually Drag/Carry larger prey items into the water, maybe triggering the drowning debuff when in the creatures mouth?

Camouflage: When sitting still in the water for more than 5 seconds perhaps make the creature camouflage like the shadowmane, but having it reappear a few seconds after it starts moving again? Also possibly make it toggleable.

I can't figure out how to put the image on here, I'll try to comment it on this post

Nothosaurus is a predecessor of the Plesiosaurs we're all familiar with, and this was a creature that lived back in the Triassic period, and this could be a very interesting "amphibious" mount with good offensive abilities and as an ambusher, as these grew to be as long as 4-7 meters that was both carnivorous and piscivorous.

Name: Nothosaurus aquatosrex (i dunno best i can think of)

Diet: Carnivore/Piscivore

Temperament: Aggressive

Time: Triassic

Tame method: Knockout

Most effective food for tame: Raw Prime Fish and Superior Kibble

Saddle Unlock: Level 46

Stats:

HP: 534

Damage: 28 (Bite), 25 (Tail Whip)

Stamina: 650

Weight: 460

Drag Weight: 255

Topor: 1867

Abilities:

Bite's can inflict bleed onto targets, immune to being stunned by other creatures, deals 35% more damage to "fish" creatures (examples like Megalodon and the Manta), can perform an underwater "charge" attack which slows down a target it slams into and can inflict "Gnashed"

Hello Survivor !

We are happy to present the Nothosaurus, a giant amphibious lizard !

Behavior : This is a large marine lizard, which regularly comes out of the water to bask on hot rocky beaches. This creature is found in shallow waters. He tends to be quickly aggressive, however he remains vulnerable during his naps.

Apparence : Smaller than a plesiosaur, the Nothosaurus is relatively slender, which gives it incredible agility in water. Its front legs are equipped with claws allowing it to adhere to rockeries, as long as its hind legs equipped with large muscles allow it to jump out of the water.

Taming : When he basks in the sun, it's time to approach discreetly to ride him by giving its fish. He will then rush into the water and a marine rodeo begins. It will be necessary to give its a fish to calm him during its spins at the risk of being unseated and at its mercy.

Utility : The Nothosaurus is a pretty good and fast swimmer. Regarding the fight, it can both use its powerful jaw to shred flesh and its tail to inflict great damage. It is also able to perform torpedo attacks thus increasing its speed. The Nohtosaurus also has a gloatrum in which it will store fish liver oil, which can be recovered to make a fishing elixir. The latter then increases the quality of the loots caught. It can also preserve fish meat longer.

Dossier :

Wild

The Nothosaurus Giganteus is an amphibious creature, a bloodthirsty killer that can move both in water and on land. The anguish of strolling by the sea and seeing this behemoth emerge out of the water and bite off its poor victim. The only opportunities we had to observe the Nothosaurus were when it was lying on the edge of the ocean to rest. Their lifestyle is very close to the Seals. It is without counting on these teeth as sharp as razor blades. To see it so skilfully hunting fish is an incredible sight, but rare are the still living witnesses of this aquatic broom.

Domesticated

For the more courageous, taming a Nothosaurus Giganteus is an excellent asset for its tribe, despite moving slowly on land, it displays all its agility once in the water. Discovering the seabed on the back of Nothosaurus is an unforgettable moment, thanks to its incredible ease under water. Although he is a faithful ally, he is above all a fast and effective murderer, especially for the fish he will kill until his thirst for flesh is satisfied. A very ingenious device is located at the level of its neck, a kind of pocket which stores and preserves the fish longer then transforms them into a kind of oil very popular with fishing enthusiasts, I have even seen some taken enormously after being in contact with this oil...

The creature was released with Les Mésaventuriers team.
Special thanks to Umbra_Daiwrfol for the illustrations!

Salut Survivant !

Hello,

My suggestion is for a land and sea based Dino.  We got the new Carcharodontosaurus which was nicked names the Giga killer.   The Northosaurus is know to be a top predator of the sea and also has the ability to walk on land.   There are real word references to these such as:

Sea Rex 3D Journey To A Prehistoric World appears briefly in

Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure in the timeline sequence.

Disney also has In the Rite of Spring segment of Disney's Fantasia

Also appear in the Son of Kong

Now for the Ark mutated version.   With the Fjordur hawks changing the game, these would help counter that aspect.  The ability would be to use a Godzilla like breath attack , Much like the void wyvern, but would apply topar to knock out players and Dino’s.  It can also be able to be used to knock out wild Dino’s.   This ability would be useful for both pvp and pve.   This will reduce the amount of time it takes to knock out tames like x mosa and similar.   They are know also to be squid killers, so they would be immune to tuso grabs and be able freeze scare a tuso.   Another ability would be to temporarily control lower level wild Dino’s to help the defend them selves (like a 30 sec window) which would help them avoid pack attacks from sharks.   On land, they won’t be as strong, but can be used defend bases by being able to knock out super soakers, like the overpowered stegos.

how it might work.  To tame, u must get them to Agro to jelly fish, when they harvest enough bio toxin, they are now tamed.   To apply topar, they must have bio toxin in their innovatory.

If feed mutagen or multi gel, they can temporarily mutate into a titan for defense.

Killing babies will result in mutagen or mutigel that can be harvested.

check out the website https://www.dkfindout.com/us/dinosaurs-and-prehistoric-life/prehistoric-reptiles/nothosaurus/

If you like this idea, please cast a vote.  Thanks for taking the time to read.

its not just the art its your idea the fact it can fertilize random eggs is the problem i shouldn't need to tell you the issue with that im debating if i should keep my vote now.
