Draconis Aquarius- Sea Strider

Hela983

Suggestion

Draconis Aquarius, otherwise known as the Sea Strider is a large draconic creature that makes its home deep underwater. Growing in sizes comparible to the Megachelon and Mosasaur, Sea Striders are very intelligent carnivores that prefer to prey on Cnidaria, Electrophorus, and Ichthyornis or Pelagornis in the wild. Despite being large and powerful enough to take out a survivor or Ichthyosaurus with ease, Sea Striders actually enjoy the company of docile creatures and friendly survivors, often going out of their way to protect them.

When wild, Sea Striders slowly float around near the ocean floor, keeping their massive fin-like wings outstretched while they search for their favorite electrified snacks. While usually docile, they become vicious opponents when attacked, capable of surprising bursts of speed when flapping their fin wings, and delivering powerful bites with their large mouths. Befriending one of these behemoths is easy, but taming one is a different story. If you spend enough time around one and give it some biotoxin, it may allow you to test your worth by mounting it, at which point... You'd better hold on tight. Once mounted, the Sea Strider will rocket towards the surface of the water and break into open flight, causing you to have to steer it away from colliding with things while following prompts to keep it from throwing you off, while it fights against your directional controls. Higher level Sea striders require a higher survivor level to tame, with the minimum level being 60.

When tamed, they are powerful water mounts and flyers, capable of a wood and silica pearl harvesting bite, the unique ability to fly and go underwater indefinitely, propel themselves underwater and in the air with wing flaps, glide while flying, and heavy wing attacks that can knock other flyers out of the air or stun creatures underwater. On land, this wing flap functions like a Wyvern wing flap. In the air, they can barrel roll to strike everything around them (but not increase speed), and in the water they can slash with the sharp edges of their wings to bleed attackers or escape from a tuso's grip.

Sea Striders are immune to electrocution by Electrophorus, Cnidaria, Voidwyrms, and Electric Prods, while also gaining a damage reduction against the lightning Wyvern. Despite their size, they can't support a platform saddle, and can be ridden unsaddled but do have a special saddle that forms an oxygen bubble around the player, allowing them to breath underwater while mounted.  For PvE, this would be an excellent travel and combat mount, as well as a great harvester dino underwater. For PvP, the Sea Striders would also be a great travel and combat mount in the air and water, and could even be used as a soaker underwater thanks to their wings. Along with being their main weapons, the wings recieve 30% less damage from projectiles when underwater, including turrets.

Despite being such useful and diverse mounts in the air and water, they don't have any typical limbs or many special abilities they can use on land, which means they're quite slow and clumsy trying to walk or run on their wings and can only use a bite and slow charging wing flap while landed.

And that sums it up for the Sea Strider! Hope you like it!
