Protostega gigas

Protostega is a huge turtle that went Lived in the shallow seas near America Canada and the UK that fed on crustaceans 85 million years ago, it was quite large at 10 feet long and weighing 3 tons.

Reasons -

Theres are a few reasons this creature would be a great addition to the game. First of all, The only turtles we have are carbonemys and megachelon, its not really much. second of all, its a large creature and would have a lot of uses in maps that have many oceans such as the center or lost island.

 

Appearance - 

This big turtle would have 2 front fins and 2 back fins with chitin plates on them with a tough keratin shell used as a defense from top attacks, the main colours would be a greyish green to a navy blue. they would have a tough underbelly to defend from below.

Taming method -

This would be a passive tame and would be quite time consuming considering the turtle must not take damage and must not get scared or the taming would go down.

First you need a Fish basket (from Aberration) to catch trilobites. once you have them you need to find yourself a turtle, they would usually spawn near warms seas like at the southern/western areas on the map (lava area for fjordur)

After you have found one, kill all the surrounding creatures to prevent damage being done to it. After that put your fish basket in your last item slot, go up to it and it will be curious and attack you, however if you use the fish basket in your last item slot it will stay docile for 10 minutes.

Keep feeding it until its 100%. once 100% you can get ride it. ride it to the bottom of the ocean and kill anything that drops chitin or keratin (trilobites, eurypterid or ammonite). and the taming meter will go up. once full you have tamed yourself a protostega!

Saddle -

The saddle for the protostega will cost hide, shell fragments (dropped by protostega) fiber and metal.

The saddle with act as a shield negating all primitive weapon dmg (bows/axes). those pesky bobs wont kill your tame unless they have crossbows or a gun. however it still damages the saddle slowly depending on the weapon but at least your tame is fine

 

Abilities -

Ok so you've tamed a protostega, what next?

swirling attack - The protostega will swirl like the baryonyx stunning enemies under water for 10 seconds.

bite - A standard bite that will do minimal damage but harvest minerals.

evade - the turtle will use a rolling technique under water to evade attacks, it will take a hefty amount of stamina but will get you out of trouble.

shell bash - The protostega will use a shell bash and ram from either side to knock away enemies and do some damage.

quick turn - Just like the sarco the protostega will do a quick biting turn the attack enemies from the back and beside!

leech evasion - while on or near the protostega leeches will not attack you.

Wild encounters -

In the wild protostega will be in groups of 3 or 4 roaming shallow waters near coral reefs, they wont attack on sight unless you have fish on you. they will swim away from megalodons and bigger but fight piranhas. yes they can go on land but they Don’t travel far and they are slow on land making it easier for them to die.

Ive always wanted this creature in the game  and i tried my best to make this as detailed as possible so you would at least notice me, tried hard, might pay off.
