What if, when a special attack enabled (similarly activated as say turret mode) and it acts like a giant bear trap (that drains it's one the creature's stamina) when you send it to attack. So you can lock down a creature you want to attack/tame . No extra damage caused apart from a large amount of the initial bite that locks the creature down(obviously that doesn't work on creatures like a Giga or a Golem or maybe it takes multiple creatures to work on them?). So, it's usueful in PvE/PvP and is not just a straight forward combat dino.

I suggest with all the creature submissions that have a grapple, that the grapple be similar to a net gun. So The creature can do a short lunge to activate the grapple, and it will do the initial melee damage of the bite, but the damage stops there, unless more melee inputs are added by the rider. But after the grapple, the rider can dismount, and either attack, or tranquilize the victim. Maybe make the grapple only last as long as there is stamina, and maybe make the grappled creature unable to attack if only grappled, but do thrash damage if more melee inputs are added by the rider. This would be nice to use as an alternative to the net gun, and make it fun to hunt wyverns for crystal/milk by plucking them out of the sky, stopping a yuty from fearing you away if you have good timing, catching a maewing before it runs, or just simply having a really nice taming buddy... if you do not accidentally shoot your buddy in the face while it holds your prey.

Maybe add some stealth like ability as well to compliment the "ambush" concept.
Maybe not something as good as the Shadowmane's invisibility.. but something more aligned with Ghillie Suit aggro reduction to help the Razana sneak up and grab it's target without being aggroed.

Combine with a player also in Ghillie and maybe bug repellent as well and you'll be best able to sneak up on wild creatures riding a Razana really effectively to ambush them.

A good trade off for being a living bear trap, able to grab and hold large creatures like Rex could be that it can only grab enemies from a first strike position, it has to ambush it's prey, catching them unaware to grapple them like that.

Add the ability for players to shoot from the back too, even when grappled and you've got a great tame even solo players can make good use of.

Sounds like a good  idea for this critter.

Thanks.

I love the idea of a living trap creature and Crocs are an awesome candidate for something like that.

4 gates and a bear trap is a pretty common and really easy strategy for taming large predators these days so it's not like having a living trap creature is out of the question if you ask me.

Adding a stealthy ambush requirement to make it work properly is a good way to add another level of challenge to it while making it different, unique and fun at the same time.

It sounds promising but there are a few flaws because I believe in my opinion that it is easier to sift a rex or spino to a race because the risk of dying decreases, especially in pvp and, speaking of pvp almost no one would use them because they are weaker than rex and spino so it is not worth risking the player with his tame

maybe it could have a toss mechanic or ragdoll sort of thing, grapples the opponent, and then shakes them around from a bit, having to maintain a lil bar (u have to stay in the middle of it) and once ur down, u can lean into one side of the bar and yeet the victim aside. and it can also rouse clouds of dust and/or sand to take cover in. along with that, ppl can be punished by using enough elemental attacks or special status effects attacks (like shock, fire, or poison blasts, but excluding all effects caused by aoe attacks) in the way that it will sort of create an aoe of damage that deal some knock back, and shortly after, it goes into a rage mode sort of like an odogaron, where it gets faster in speed and attack speed, and gains a shortrange deafening shriek for enemys that are close (think gurgal from wakfu or godzilla earth), which stun the dino for a bit and make things harder to hear (no kicking off of ride tho)

This is an interesting idea that I personally think could fit the introduction of a a new terrestrial crocodile to Ark (even if Kaprosuchus could have a TLC update designated for it), especially since Razanandrongobe is the largest Notosuchia or ziphosuchian known on Earth from the Mid Jurassic of Madagascar, which could fit an entirely new ecological role that affects some form of gameplay currently unfulfilled.

I do also have some ideas that I can provide for this animal's hypothetical introduction into Ark Survival Evolved.

The first detail I want to remark or "describe" for the community is that Razanandrongobe is not a postosuchid or a Rauisuchidae, instead the original species of Razanandrongobe, R. sakalavae is the earliest known mesoeucrocodylian crocodylomorph that measured more than 7 metres in length (23 ft long) and experienced this type of size and mass due to a natural phenomenon known as island gigantism from the lack of predatory theropods on Madagascar that could compete for the niche as dominant or top predators. The skeletal anatomy of these reptiles prevented them the ability to stand on their two hind legs like many restorations of Rauisuchidae crocodilians, as well as the fact that Notosuchia didn't live during the Triassic instead the Jurassic and Cretaceous and were primarily found on Gondwana. With these details in mind, Razanandrongobe shouldn't be a new contender for a postosuchus, but rather an entirely different animal.

Diet wise, Razanandrongobe hunted everything from pterosaurs to smaller Thattosuchian crocodiles, small ceratosaurids (Noasauridae), carrion and young/juvenile or ill sauropods such as Archaeodontosaurus and Lapparentosaurus, which could relate to new behaviours, attributes, roles and characteristics peculiar to Razana.

For abilities, this animal shouldn't be bipedal in the slightest and still hold some resemblance to the original species, but could instead have more sensory-related abilities. After attacking a target, Razanandrongobe could track their target's blood trail through an aura that gives off its target's pathing, this is due to the position of the skull shape, its heavier build with large armoured plating common in other Notosuchia that would discourage running at top speeds and rather sitting in wait (using bone crushing muscles to kill its prey immediately), and their well developed chemoreception. The shape of Razanandrongobe's teeth are serrated, which could imply that rather that just relying entirely on bite force, the amount of scarring in tissue, blood loss and internal bleeding caused by its teeth could correlate with a special "blood loss" ability similar to standard bleeding (or the injured effect), and could relate to a behaviour designated in tracking its prey until it dies (an effect that could be visible towards the rider - can be disabled in its settings); an idea that could simply be portrayed similar to the speculative behaviours of Foetodon from Peter Jackson's King Kong (to give a comparison). The concept of bullet proof hide would be a perfect speculative characteristic for this creature that differs Razana from other crocodilians already in Ark, but would need other weaknesses in order to counterbalance its abilities. Razanandrongobe could receive a special buff from scavenging due to its bone-scraping teeth found on the premaxilla of the upper jaw, that convergently resemble the teeth of Tyrannosaurids. A final detail that could be portrayed in this animal would be its attack methods. The mentioned "pinning" attacks that can be portrayed as slamming targets into the ground or swinging its prey item side to side (in order to slice off large chunks of flesh or bite down to the bone), is possible from the anatomy of its skull which was strengthened by an expansion of "palatal shelves" that formed the roof of its mouth, which greatly reduced the amount of strain enforced onto its neck and head muscles/tendons, resulting in a built in resistance to torsion or vertical bending. On the concept of grappling, this animal wouldn't (even speculated) be able to climb other animals, due to the normal species being in range of 1,800 to 2,200 (more than a ton in weight - 1.1 to be exact) pounds or twice the weight of a megalania in comparison. Otherwise, these abilities could allow it to counteract a shadowmane and if capable of performing an ambush, could compete against a spinosaurus or tyrannosaurus by simply draining the health and crushing the bones of its prey; while waiting in the shadows for its target's demise.

This creature has lots of potential.

Keep up the good work!

Looks like it could be a great mid-late game upgrade to the Kapro. Would need some abilities to distinguish it though...

Since it works on ambush, perhaps the ability to briefly pin down smaller enemies? Kinda like the raptor's but more damaging and requires a successful charge?

I really think it would make a great addition to ark and I really like crocodiles and alligators
