REAL LIFE: Razana is a very large prehistoric crocodile found in Madagascar that had the same teeth as Tyrannosaurus. It had 46 to 48 teeth which fell out and grew back and were more serrated than T Rex's which were used for breaking bones and tendons. Scientists said that the advanced theropods weren't immune from being hunted by Razana. Suspected as a scavenger and ambush predator, it would burst out of hiding to ambush its prey and is capable of pretty good speed and more than likely more efficiently than modern crocodiles.

IN GAME: In terms of abilities, maybe Razana's Teeth are so powerful at breaking bones that after biting its prey or foes, it can cripple them making them unable to sprint or jump as long as they have said debuff. Razana could be same strength wise if not slightly weaker than Rex/Spino  so it still has capablity of fighting in boss fights, raids to slow down opposing creatures with their crippling bites, maybe even swing their tail at them, maybe even pin opponents down with their jaws and shake them around. Razana would also be immune to most if not all debuffs due to their thick hide making them a great creature for tanking attacks that apply debuffs. Would also be a decent counter to Shadowmanes.

To Tame it, maybe you need to let it grab you with its jaws and upon it doing so, you feed it its preferred food to which it will be passive for a bit then you repeat until its tamed. Saddle maybe be same level wise as Rex/Spino or lower.

Saddle could be like Andrewsarchus where the rider is safe inside a box on its back

NEW IDEAS FROM COMMENTS: Grapple Creatures up to Rex sized draining stamina and bleeding, resistant to bullets due to crocodile hides being thick

Perhaps it could simply grapple a creature, as in it has an attack where it bites something and holds it in place while bleeding and draining the creatures stamina. It could grapple stuff up to a Rex into terms of size. Maybe it could also be resistant to projectiles since real crocs are fairly resistant to gunfire.

I like this, but I think the Fasolasuchus is more aesthetically pleasing and would scratch the same crocodyliform itch. If this wins, though, here is the abilites I would like to see on it (copied and pasted from the Fasolasuchus)

Smithy Saddle:

  • Bipedal mode

    • Faster run

    • Bite/Tail whip

    • Stunning stampede charge

    • Jump

    • Roar emote

  • Quadrupedal mode

    • Knockback resistance

    • Lower stamina drain

    • Better climb angle

    • Bite/Tail whip

    • Jump

    • Roar emote

  • Swimming

    • Bite/Tail Whip

    • Roar emote

Fabricated Saddle

  • Quadrupedal mode only

    • Knockback resistance

    • Lower stamina drain

    • Better climb angle

    • Bite/Tail whip

    • Jump

    • Roar emote

  • Two side turrets

    • Rocket turret/Railgun turret

    • Works under water

Injure until it runs away to sleep. Tame while it sleeps.

Okay this is one of those submissions I have hardly any issues on so it's hard to list alot here but maybe make it a little less powerful than a rex and a Spino And it's literally PERFECT honestly now that I think about it you could probably make this A rex/Spino level tame and get away with it, it might be good, I'll say out of all the submissions here yours is the best for PvP it addresses a big PvP related issue being Shadowmanes and tame Sniping two pretty big things right now, you might not be a PvP player but you did a fantastic job 👏, maybe for Suggestions give it some more behavioral stuff I like when people list the nature aspect of it too it makes the creature have immersion and I could picture it in the game

The Carnivore that can finally not be bothered by any dismounting abilities of other dinos, it will be the basi of the earth. A slow but formidable tank, that could care less about your Shadow manes dismount attack, or the jellyfish of the sea, this mount will protect you at all costs, after being tamed.

Wild- It is a lazy slow moving carnivore, think alligator sunbathing. It will only move from its sunbathing spot if disturbed or attacked. Normally other dinos don't attack this basking giant, as its thick hide is resistant to mostly everything that comes up against it, along with powerful jaws that can clamp down on nearly anything it can get around.

Taming- To tame this creature you will need to throw down either Prime fish meat, Prime meat, or mutton. Be careful as one you throw down meat in front of it, any postosuchus's in the general area will come running over to get a bite, and will enter a state of feeding frenzy, much like piranhas, if you are unlucky to be caught in the cross fires, I hope your tribe members have something written down to say at your eulogy (thats if their able to recover your body). They will follow you like a pack of dogs on a three legged cat, if you're not wearing ghillie.

Tamed- Congratulations you tamed it! Two legs? check. Two arms? check. Still have your fingers and toes, okay good. Now you have a beast of a mount, much like a turtle. It is heaviliy resistant to most secondary attacks by other dinos. Bleed only works if the dino can reach an artery, but given its thick scales and hide, that's nearly impossible (unless you're the Indominus Rex and just flip it over). As for the other secondary attacks, like fire, lightening, and poison it will be resistant up 100 percent for the first hit, and as its hit more and more, it's resistance will dwindle all the way down to zero like a normal creature, as even the tankiest creatures can only take so much. When it comes to the shadow mane, and voidwyrms attack, and Cnidaria that would normally stun and dismount a rider, your postosuchus will walk through the attack unbothered, with you riding on its back, thanks to its special saddle design and its general nature, the only way you can by taken off your postosuchus is if you want to get off. When dealing with micro raptors it will rear and catch the micro raptor in its jaws, making it a one hit kill on micro raptors. Even though its size wouldn't constitute it to be immune to yutis, the only roar that has an effect on him is the shadowmanes buff, and the yuti's buff roar.

Other attributes- It will be slow, a not so fast creature for sure, its health pool will be large, but if you want it to heal quickly you will need to let it bask in the sun, daedons and snow owls won't help you this time, nor will force feeding it.

Other mentions-

It could have the ability to use its jaws like a bear trap, as its used to basking and generally staying still for a long time, one could latch only any creature within its weight class and hold it still, some health will be lost on the creature it holds, but the creature won't get away, (it won't be like the kapro that can snack on whatever it has in its mouth)

It can also have a bipedal mode, where it gains an extra attack at the expense of speed.

A speed buff by hitting water, much like the spino.

A tail attack that slams its tail to the ground to do torpor damage.

I do like my ARK crocodiles ^^

Maybe add some stealth like ability as well to compliment the "ambush" concept.
Maybe not something as good as the Shadowmane's invisibility.. but something more aligned with Ghillie Suit aggro reduction to help the Razana sneak up and grab it's target without being aggroed.

Combine with a player also in Ghillie and maybe bug repellent as well and you'll be best able to sneak up on wild creatures riding a Razana really effectively to ambush them.

A good trade off for being a living bear trap, able to grab and hold large creatures like Rex could be that it can only grab enemies from a first strike position, it has to ambush it's prey, catching them unaware to grapple them like that.

Add the ability for players to shoot from the back too, even when grappled and you've got a great tame even solo players can make good use of.
