Introducing Classic PvP Season 6!

Classic PvP Season 6 launches on the 15th of December 2022! 

In 2019, the launch of the Snail Games Initiative, Classic PvP, created an exciting and competitive playing experience for PC players. Throughout the course of the seasons, the meta was watched closely and changes were made to shake things up and create an experience tailored for PvP gameplay. Continue on the quest for the ultimate PvP experience with the introduction of Classic PvP Season 6!

  • Experience gain, taming, gathering have been quintupled compared to our standard Official Servers (5x)
  • Breeding, hatching, and raising rates have been quadrupled compared to our standard Official Servers (4x)
  • Tribes are set to 25 players max
  • Tribe alliances are disabled, though informal alliances are allowed
  • Servers have a maximum player count of 100
  • These maps will be available: The Island, Scorched Earth, Ragnarok, Lost Island, Valguero, and The Center
  • Tek dinos (Tek Parasaur, Tek Quetzal, Tek Rex, Tek Raptor, Tek Stego), Paracer, Tapejara, and the Titanosaur are not available for taming on Classic PvP
  • All Aberration, Extinction, Genesis Part 1, and Genesis Part 2 content is unavailable on Classic PvP
  • Scaling of weapon damage has been reduced
  • No TEK Engrams
  • No cave building
  • Cryopods enabled
  • Tamed Stegosaurus Resistance reduced by 35%
  • Tamed Quetzal Resistance reduced by 20%
  • Tamed Wyvern Resistance reduced by 20%
  • Tamed Wyvern Damage reduced by 20%
  • Reaper Queen added to the Valguero Aberration Zone

Just for clarification in case you guys (Snailgames) somehow misinterpret the comments, when we say we want Gigas removed we also want Carchars removed. Nobody even mentioned them but this season already seems like it has them enabled as part of the ''new meta change''. Carchars will absolutely ruin the meta because they're just faster Gigas that don't rage. Please don't ruin the last classic season of Ark 1's lifetime. Classic season 2 was the golden age of the game. Every dino was useable in open world pvp and you could win if you were good
 

Another point to get rid of Gigas and Carchars: Classic is advertised as a competitive cluster. The higher the skill gap is the more competitive the server is. Gigas and Carchars are 2 of the least skill based dinos in the game. Anyone can left click. In classic s2 you were rewarded for being good at flier pvp and foot pvp, both of which require a lot more skill than left clicking with a big dinosaur.

Nobody want Removed Gigas and Carchas i disagree with the comments before. Season 1 was without gigas and it went pretty fast boring and people quit early. It need take tons of time take out enemy dinos und ruin the gameplay running only with allos and tyhas to counter golems. Classic is good how it is. Or atleast when gigas removed the Rex etc must be damaged buffed.

Name 1 thing that goes to poop if Classic goes back to season 2 rules, you can't. There are plenty of counters to Golems as long as Mammoth buff is removed (Weight grapple, picking, stacking bleed from multiple bleed dinos etc, cannon(does like 3k pr shot), etc), and you actually need to be good to win open world fights without Gigas. The last few seasons of Classic has only had 1 thing matter for pushing: Giga melee. It sucks all of the skill out of the meta. With Mammoth buff enabled you can't even use fliers or anything to help win the Giga fight because you can't pick them, so whoever rolls the luckiest wild Giga melee wins the season.
You're saying it ruins the gameplay because it takes tons of time to take out enemy dinos, but the only dinos that even take time to kill in the classic meta are Gigas, Golems and Reapers(Maybe Stegos but they have nerfed resistance). If Reapers and Gigas are removed the damage scaling fixes itself, Spinos and other land dinos will kill each other at a similar pace to how Gigas do since they have much less hp. The only dino that doesn't instantly die is Golems, but not being able to counter them is a skill issue not a balancing issue. 
Removing the big munch munch dinosaurs that have no counters is what everyone (except you) wants.
They tried seasons with them, now people are giving their feedback.

(Classic season 2 also had servers with reaching 100 pop less than a month before it wiped. The ruleset worked and everyone loved it. Season 3 and onwards has had much lower pop even though the game has had similar player counts up until last year where Gen 2 killed it.)

Ok I ended up writing an essay lol, if you have any arguments against my argument here I'll gladly explain to you why you're wrong.

Leaving Gigas, Reapers and Quetz enabled is acceptable but the entire community would much rather have old classic back without Gigas making every other land dino useless. If you're worried about golems being too strong without Gigas like all the bobs said before season 3, you can just make them take normal damage from all dinos but leave their turret resistance so Gigas aren't needed.

Saying nobody wants gigas removed is simply false. Look how many comments say to remove them. 

Golems are easy to counter without gigas. Rockets, argy picks, gas nades, grapples--all other examples aside from allos and thylas to counter them. 

There is nothing fulfilling in meat running someone's base with just a giga or two. It should be difficult and rewarding on both the attacking and defending sides.

Remove gigas. There needs to be a skill gap in competitive pvp game modes not a bunch of bobs holding giga lines for hours. There is so many stackable bleeds. Let us utilise a larger range of dps tames!


to add to the skill gap list also disable:

-net gun engram (that comes with lost island).

-mammoth buff.

-quetzal platform build limit - to prevent 90% damage immune quetzals.

-disable reaper

tribes should be forced to outskill in classic not abuse a 5 tame meta.

The most people said how boring it was without gigas and how long it took to take down enemys golems etc. For me i dont care atleast the game is balanced and there is fun.
