Gutterstench
Some of my servers generate these additional map saves (.ark files) with 'mapname-timestamp.ark' naming conventions. Can anyone tell me why this happens? I am concerned the saves are being corrupted and this is some kind of backup mechanism.
Larkfields
It's a kind of backup mechanism 🙂 You can replace your main .ark file with any of these if you suffer corruption. I'd suggest you copy the main .ark file first though - just in case it isn't corrupt.
Gutterstench
So this is normal behavior and always happens whenever a world save occurs?

The server runs a parallel task that periodically copy and backup your current save so that you have safe points to rollback to in case something happens and it gets corrupted. You can define that maximum number of backups you want to keep by adding the following to your launch options (defaulted to 20): -MaxNumOfSaveBackups=20 Whenever a new backup is created, the oldest ones will be deleted. Gutterstench
Makes sense. Also, thank you for the info on changing the behavior.
