Rafts sticking to shores

I've got two glued in place right now. Used to be they were a little sticky (shores), but if you found the exact right angle to sail away you could free yourself. But around the time rivers became impassable (a raft built in the ocean of the island map is never ever gonna make it to the redwoods like they used to) shores became stickier too.

THe spot on the raft that likes to get stuck is dead center.  If there's a rock sticking out of the ground anywhere near that, or if a dino is standing on that spot  - it will also do exactly what you are talking about.   I haven't navigated a raft in a very long time, my info could be totally not relevant to this case.  I'm just mentioning it just in case there's details you can try to adjust.

It noone builds in the rivers, you can get really really close.

I haven't tried from south zone 1, looking at the map you'd think that'd be the easiest, but I always got stuck in the swamp when I tried it even back before rafts were nerfed to stick to every little clump of land. My preferred way was actually to come down that river delta in north zone 1 and it didn't look like on the map that it connected, but it sure used to till the change. There's also a island in southzone 3 at about 80 65 (the one with metal on top near beaver dams) you used to be able to sail all the way around that one but the water ways are now totally impassable to rafts at the shallow points, and I now often see rafts stuck there. But I used to start there and sail like 3/4 of the way up to the redwoods, now can't even start sailing to rw from that delta.

I admit, it typically takes me and an anky swinging to get there, but my typical path is from the river inlet at 80, 30 and head straight north to the western edge of the redwoods. From there to the beaver spawn, and boom. Im in the northern river of the redwoods.
I got to clear out all of the rocks and sometimes some trees, but otherwise I go up there to go fishing without building a new raft.

They changed the collision on boats a few months ago and it's a lot worse now. You can't go nearly anywhere you could before

To top it off I lost a third boat to an alpha whale yesterday. Can't build gates or vaults on boats anymore, can't sail near the shore, can't sail in the deep... I think it's gonna be a long time before I dare to build another boat. They used to be great, now they are garbage on so many levels. 😡

I feel you there.....granted, it is a cheesy way to get around by hugging the coast, but then I found out that the motorboat requires a bunch of black pearls......only built two ever and one of them was in cheat mode. Perhaps the most useless thing in the game
