You then .. The Dork Dev who came up with this code needs a lesson or 20 in Variable Naming. e.g . MinItemSets & MaxItemSets refers to the Min & Max number of sets you want.. not item. they should be called MinNUMSets and MaxNumSets. NumItemSetsPower refers to the Sets Power That should have been named SetsPower bSetsRandomWithoutReplacement is a negative arguement making it confusing. SetsReplacement as a possitive arguement would have been less Confusing. MinNumItems & MaxNumItems refers to the min/max number of entries. They should have been called MinNumENTRIES & MaxNumENTRIES NumItemsPower refers to the power of the entries.....that should have been called ENTRIESPower. bItemsRandomWithoutReplacement is a negative arguement and refers to Entries making it doubly confusing. NumItemSetsPower Is a Multiplier against items quality within the following ItemSets=() (basically against every item) Unless you want a bit of a headache, leave them at 1.0 as suggested, and alter each individual items quality. IF, however, you have a massive loot table options, this maybe a nightmare to do. If you are unhappy with the overall quality of items from a particular SET, you could change the NumItemsPower for that set (0.99 would reduce the overall quality of all items in that set by 1%, 1.01 would raise by 1%) If you are unhappy with the overall quality of ALL items in a crate, adjusting NumItemSetsPower would adjust the overall quality of every item. (0.99 would lower all item qualities by 1%, 1.01 would raise by 1%) Not something you want to mess around with lightly, but useful to know for those that want full control over there loot crates Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Volunteer Moderator Jerryn Posted June 7, 2016 Volunteer Moderator Share Posted June 7, 2016 Based on all of the good research here, I am working on an Excel Spreadsheet that will allow you to fill in the important info, and it will handle the formatting, parenthesis, quotes, and such, and also put in a little error checking. I started putting it together today when I had time to work on it, and If all goes well, I will test by tomorrow night and then release to those of you who want to help test it. I may also post generated code for those of you that will to check for syntax, typos and such. I already have all of the parenthesis opening and closing done, and a fairly easy way to transition from ItemSets, ItemEntries, and the actual items, which you can select from a list or type in free hand(which is still validated against the list, which you can customize easily enough). Around 10% of the time, the code is ignored and random items (probably from original loot table) are found in crates... Anyway... Tested the drop rates in crates today and compared them to SetWeight= I wanted to see if i could ALWAYS have a piece of stone and sometimes have a piece of wood or thatch in crates. MinItemSets=1,MaxItemSets=2 3 simple ItemSets= each containing 1 item (stone, Thatch, wood) and with there EntryWeight=1.0 & ItemsWeights=(1.0) were made. SetWeight= for each were...Stone(1.0), Thatch(0.5) Wood(0.5) Drop rates came out as..... Stone : 77.59% Thatch : 46.55% Wood : 31.04% 2 Items : 48.28% 1 Item with no stone...15.51% 2 items with no Stone ... 6.90% The sample pool was only small (68 crates) so can't make a full determination as to how the randomisation works as yet. Will check a couple hundred tomorrow and hopefully be able to give a clearer picture. We CAN however, determine that Weight=1.0 DOES NOT equal 100%. It is, however, a determining factor on the chance of something to drop, when compared to the Weight= of other Set/Entry/Items on the same level/sublevel. Tomorrow I will test again, but set Weight=10000.0 for stone (in hopes of giving it a 99.99% chance to drop and then still maintain a 50/50 for Wood/Thatch on the second roll). Having to do all that code for each item inbetween would be more of a hassle but if it works I will use it...please report if the items stop dropping over time if you can. IE the red beacon has 3 sets that could spawn (armor, weapons, or saddles) and the yellow has 4 (armor, weapons, saddle, or misc (turrets)). Tested and no "hanging beacons" left over. And how much control you want/need over quantities,qualities of items in the lower sub levels. Not sure what results you would get with yours though. In the set you have defined, you ask for MinNumItems=2,MaxNumItems=2,..(this is the number of entries you want in this set).. but then you only have 1 Entry listed. They just get ignored sometimes (around 10%). You can find random stuff in a crate and then the correct stuff in the next crates. Not sure if they spawn, but there are two types of loot crates for each level, you may need to do both. I just tested my new loot crate spreadsheet, doing a simple replacement of the Level03 with only stone in them, summoned about 15 of them, and only got stone in them. Because, spawning in the started level 3 should always get the stone. But, for testing the random, I will put wood in the double and see what happens. Also, you can modify the cave drops. I just put stone in a Tier 1 and summoned, and it only had stone in it. And, on this server, there are two different mods that mess with the drops. It should make no difference in stability, but it makes a difference in how the stuff will spawn. For a very watered down example, Mine has a 50% chance to spawn a saddle set and a 50% chance to spawn a weapons set. If it is a saddle set, then there is a 30% chance that a specific saddle will spawn, but you wont get any weapons. In yours there is always a chance to get everything you type. Think of it like this: Mine is open a supply drop and see just weapons, or open a supply drop and see just saddles. Yours is open a supply drop and see a mix of everything all the time. But its doing weird stuff with the kibbles in the 3rd item set. Its giving me like 7-8 different types of kibbles per drop and in lower quantities than what I have specified (min is 5). I can't see how or why its doing that, I don't have that anywhere in the code. Am I missing something? Far as I can tell the first two items sets work just fine. The way you have it atm, the last set is made up of 1 entry. that entry gives between 5 - 20 random items from the previous list(all the kibble). The first 2 entries are working exactly the same, but with a max qty of 1, you don't notice it. If you upped the min/max qty's on either of those entries you would see a similar effect. If you want random quantities of just 1 item, It has to go on its own separate Entry. Having multiple items and multiple qty's within in the same entry will result in a mixed bag of goodies. The EntryWeight (as far as I can tell) is its consideration when compared to the TOTAL EntryWeight of ALL EntryWeights. E.g. If you have 6 Entries all with EntryWeight=1.0, each entry would have a 20% chance for consideration ( 1/6*100 ) Likewise, If you have 6 Entries all with EntryWeight=0.2 Each entry would have a 20% chance for consideration ( 0.2/1.2*100) If however you have 3 Entries with EntryWeight=1.0 and 3 Entries with EntryWeight=0.2, the Entries with EntryWeight=1.0 would have a 27.78% chance (1/3.6*100) and the Entries with EntryWeight=0.2 would have a 5.56% chance (0.2/3.6*100) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
