TimeBomb2003
Hi I'm looking to host my own cluster of servers, cause renting is to bloody expensive. So, for anyone else who has done this, what are the specs required to pull something like this off?
Larkfields
Allow an average of about 8GB RAM per map + 1 CPU Core per map. This is with 12 people across unmodded official maps on a cluster.

Larkfields
I have all the maps under one directory with the server's installation, on a 1TB boot drive. Short term backups go to a second internal drive.
TimeBomb2003
Another question, is it worth the money to get a 1TB SSD, rather than a 1TB HDD?

That is always worth it. HDDs should be relegated to storing large media files and backups.

My server has a 1TB NVMe and a 2TB HD for storing the backups.
TimeBomb2003
Another follow up question, is it possible to do this for under $1000 dollars?

It's been a while since I built my last few PC/server. I think it's going to be the RAM that pushes it depending on how many maps you run.
