Looking to dive right into the action, Fjordhawk can forge close bonds with humans as wholeheartedly as any canine or primate.  A tamed Fjordhawk is a surprisingly playful companion that is very capable of fetching targets that you point out. A well-trained fjordhawk can locate injured prey and communicate its find to you.

Check out this post for more information on the new creatures that will arrive with Fjordur in June 2022!!

Two years ago during the annual Extra Life Fundraiser, we unveiled a new creature that would be added to the game along with Genesis 2: the Noglin. Within a matter of minutes, a Redditor combined the Noglin with the popular "Poggers" meme to create "The Poglin". Since then, the Poglin has taken on many forms, including a 3D Art version made by the very talented artist ImEnFuego. We got in on the fun added the Poglin Mask Skin into the game and history was made!

We greatly appreciate community-led efforts such as the Poglin. As such, we've decided to hold a Discord competition to see who can make the best Poglin Heart Emoji. The winning emoji will be added to the Discord for all to use.

Hop into our Discord to see the details of the contest!

You know going from the picture presented with the fjordhawk nest I'm kind of hoping that wildcard will take some inspiration from falconry in how they're acquired. In America at least only passage birds (I.e. Left the nest but still under a year old) are allowed to be trapped for use in falconry. Perhaps if they do a similar mechanic to dinopithecus by making them spawn in a variety of ages they could impliment a taming mechanic for all but the adults- egg/baby/juvenile theft to adolescent taming. Would help players get a leg up that way were imprinting allowed in that regard.

Yeah it definitely seems suggestive.  Knowing WC we might have to get ‘em by using oviraptors.  Which would be kind of a cool dynamic.  Especially since when was the last time any used an ovi to steal eggs, January of 2016? Lol.  On the flip side, we all know oviraptors aren’t really tanky so any serious hits and that would probably be the end of it.  I’m also wondering what the ace up the sleeve is that WC is holding.  I say this because most creatures that require an egg theft also requires a special food to feed it, with the exception of a couple I think.  I dunno about rockdrakes, never stole an egg.  But wyverns require milk or primal crystal, magmas require sulfur or something I think, I don’t remember.  Is there a new form of regurgitated meat or something?  That’s how most birds of prey feed their young.  That would be cool but also the potential of being a major pain in the arse.

Which I have to say this, Wildcard, THANK YOU for fixing gen 2 servers, or at least stabilizing them!!!  With that said why didn’t you do that months and months ago when they first started having problems?  They’re not perfect but MUCH better!  Plus, there is nothing perfect about this game we all know that, and most of us accept it.  No I’m not gonna change my mind on whether you all should delay Ark 2.  Could we maybe get some QOL things brought into the game, please?

As much as I enjoy Ark and the upcoming Fjordur event I have to wonder who at WC thought an EVO event without breeding would ever be a good idea. Recently, harvesting and taming evos seem to be the standard. But who of the players would really log in to do some massive taming without the event colors? I am convinced, that most players are mainly interested in breeding, which has the greatest impact on gaming and the community, either PVP or PVE. So, please, WC, try to do yourself a favour and implement breeding into future evo events. At least for me, there is no real reason to play ARK without breeding.

Have a sunny weekend, survivors :)

That oviraptor and those eggs seem like they're suggesting something... Maybe this is another egg steal tame? Like the wyvern and magmasaur.

I was thinking the exact same thing as I saw this photo. And also, there's a flock flying above-this might be suggesting another mechanic where the younger members of a flock have to be "initiated" by proving their worth by stealing eggs. That would be insane. Or maybe some kind of new, innovative imprinting mechanic? Who knows?

Personally, I'm not much of a fan for the Fjordhawk, or any original, mechanical or mythological creature. My reason for this is that there are still many, many real creatures that could be put into the game, but are not. My opinion is that the bosses could be original, mechanical or mythological, but the main gameplay itself should be real dinosaurs or extinct creatures. I am not trying to be rude to Wildcard Studios, or to other players who enjoy these creatures, I am just stating my personal opinion.

The issue with that is that so many of those creatures have overlapping niches that you'd only really be taming them for a palette swap unless wildcard were willing to go whole hog with giving each one a unique ability. Sure there are cases where they make creatures of the same group unique (deinonychus v raptor, trike v pachyrhino, calico v megatherium) but overall they'd just be hitting the same notes after a point.

You know what? You made a pretty good point there. I can't see each creature getting a unique ability, so, yeah, I can see what you're saying. Thank you.
