Franz13
I'd like to know why you can magically track dinosaurs that you are taking, but you apparently can't track dinosaurs that you've already tamed..? Is that possible, I certainly don't know how to do it, if it is...
AllOfTheAllos
Because once upon a time the tame tracker DID allow you to track tamed things... And also allowed you to often crash your game just by opening the tracker. So tracking of already tamed dinos was removed.

Then they fall off. THere's probably other circumstances like server crashes that drop them too.

WC has never provided a good, dependable way for tracking dino's.

GAMBITSareWild
I've lost so many wyverns over the years and wasted so much time looking for them....the last dino I lost was a dinopithicus in the redwoods I got ambushed by the micro raptor / troodon combo..apparently monkey was still set on aggressive from being on dino leash at my base...it ran off and I eventually found it 4 days later..how dumb of me 😆
