I literally got the new switch just so I can play ark on it rather than using mobile and it seems mobile has far more going for it than switch. Not too long ago they announced that they are going to be upgrading the client to Unreal Engine 4 and adding the story maps one at a time starting with Scorched Earth and adding a new one every two months. There was also a Twitch stream where they showed gameplay footage using UE4 and announnced that even the free non-story maps will be available at some point for the Switch.
