Due to autodecay it is impossible to build pretty buildings since a cottage with thatch roof will loose it's roof if you go on a long weekend. Your wooden porch is gone after a week away, building steel would not keep your water or electrics running either. So all you can do is going full TEK, wich results in dull boxes mainly, for the parts are a bit too expensive to experiment with.
A good solution for PvE would be a holiday-modus where you have to "reserve" your (limited?) holiday a few days in advance, during wich period the auto decay is paused.
If possible combined with a "Strongets Link Bonus" that gives your thatch roof on a stone cottage more time so building pretty is rewarded opposed to the "weakest link" penalty as we have now.
