best way of getting lots of element, if you only have The Island + free maps?

Some background: I play mainly on the island, official PVE. I have access to extinction & genesis, and get my element mainly from farming shards on genesis, so the question does not really concern me. Anyway, we have a few very "rich" players on the server, who trade a lot & love showing off all of their nice/exotic stuff. (think top-dmg gigas, top stats wyverns with exotic colors, bloodstalkers & feroxes & magmasaurs, space whales and phoenixes etc.)
Naturally, other players also want these things -- but anything nice is typically sold for tek/dust only. No-one will accept ingots or crystal as payment; occasionally someone will ask for hard polymer, but even that is rare. Just recently we had a huge debate in global about how unfair this is, and how hard it is for someone with none of the other paid expansion maps to get the really good stuff. So a few of us tried to come up with ways of getting element for those players. But, since most of us have access to extinction/genesis, we're not really sure what the best way is.

1) Kill beta or alpha broodmother for element. Decent (not top-of-the-line, but good enough) boss-rex eggs can be bought for ingots, so raising an army of rexes is not that difficult. A tamed high level yuti should be enough. The artifact caves are easy (except if you meet the the lag-boss inside the lava cave -.-), and the tributes easy to farm.

2) After running broodmother once, invest some of the element into pair of dust gachas. Crappy low level snow owls can often be bought for a few ingots to increase the dust output further. If you like this method of farming, just invest the dust into more dust gachas.

3) Farm element shards on CI. A player with no extinction won't be able to craft these into element (?), but might be able to trade the shards for element. But from what I've heard, you need a really good mantis to even get a decent shard output. So idk if this is really worth it.

Are there more / better ways to get element that I have forgotten or don't know about?

Crystal Isles is pretty easy for Element. The eldritch isles has these light blue crystals that give shards. Number one collector tame is a Mantis with a hatchet(not a pick). Second would be an anky. During normal rates, I usually come out with 30 element for 30 minutes. Multiply that by any rate increases. I use a mantis, so an Anky would get about 20-25 element. During the easter event, I was lazy and only went out occasionally. I ended this morning with 1000 element.... so maybe 10 runs at x3.

Crystal Isle also has the power nodes where you can craft element, but that is slower and tedious.

Also... if you care gong the Boss fight route... I recommend Valguero. Send in the rexes and maybe 4 deonys. Follow some youtube tutorials and send the deonys at the dragon before sending the rexes in... the dragon will fall pretty quick. Rexes will nail the ape... then wait on the Manticore to land and shred it.

Good net on element, that fight. Gamma and Beta are easy-peasy.

Dust gachas are probably the most viable source. I have no idea what they're selling for on official servers though. If you need initial element to buy them the valguero arena isn't very expensive or difficult and has a high element yield.

Some other resources rich players may want. Hide is pretty valuable for making expensive saddles, take a delicate harvesting theri into the iceworm cave on rag. More gunpowder never hurts either.

Hmm yeah. the more i think about this, the more i come to the conclusion that part of the problem might actually be this particular server 🤨 the last time someone wanted to buy dust gachas, the minimum price was 50k dust/50 tek ceilings, which is not a lot once you have a way of reliably getting element, but probably feels like a huge sum if you have none. Although once you have the gachas, you'll quickly earn that 50k dust back.

The CI shard farm sounds more promising than I thought. I might try that out myself ;)

You can still craft shards to element with a Tek rep, no need for Extinction. You'll need a rep regardless if you want to craft raw element/shards into anything transferable anyway so honestly outside of farming bosses your best option would be setting up a farming outpost on a CI server. You don't need a top tier mantis, even a decent tamed or 1st gen bred one with a good hatchet bp will farm fairly efficiently. It's not as fast as Ext or Gen but more than enough to build up some element.

As for the issue with trading there's plenty of people that will trade in poly, ingots, or other stuff aside from ele/tek. It really just depends on the server.

Totally this.

I know people who trade all sorts of things that aren't tek, that's how they acquire their tek. Make things that people need but are a pain in the butt to grind and people will buy them

There are traders who specialise in consumables like kibble or ammo who rarely do boss fights or element drops.

Hell, why not run a tek farm?
Breed tek raptors, auto hatch the egg, leave a mosschops on wander in the catch, every tek raptor baby that dies = free dust.......while that is running, you could do boss fights all day long. I just did all levels of the spider and got 260 element'ish? and am about to hit the monkey today, will see how much that pushes.
Id fathom that if I was to do nothing but alphas, I could probably pull near 1000 element once every 3 days to a week.

.............................."looks at the rest of the comments"

Well then, apparently Im running the slowest method of gathering element ever. XD
