Character lost after switching maps

Me and my son almost completed the Island on a private dedicated LAN server - Steam, PC, etc.  We decided to try ragnarok so I created a new startServer.bat in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64

I just changed the map in the CMD:

"start ShooterGameServer.exe "Ragnarok?QueryPort=etc...."

Then we decided we want to make a boss raid back in the Island and I started the old server:
"start ShooterGameServer.exe "TheIsland?etc..."

Now, it seems the characters we created in Ragnarok are back in Island. Not a big deal as I can use cheat forcejointribe 0 0 to add them to the old tribe. I can see the bodies of the old characters hanging in the air so I can take the gear from the body inventory - nothing is lost except the character, ingrams etc.

Is there a clever way to switch characters when you switch maps? I want one character when I play the Island and another character when I play Ragnarok.
