Been playing Aberration, and got to thinking, what did this map look like back in its heyday? So what if a map was created, using the current Aberration map, except the setting would be right as the map started to decline. (this could be introduced as a non-cannon map like The Center and others, or maybe into Ark 2 but nobody’s certain how that would be different)
The timing would be shortly after the ark starts malfunctioning. For most part, life continues as normal but every now and then (maybe every ten days or so), huge storms, they could be radioactive or conditions similar to the current surface. In either case, they force life underground, and strip the surface bare of plantlife, similar to how it would eventually look. Then the ark restores the plant life in a similar way that they reappear after harvesting.
Geographically it could be interesting as well, since the whole middle parts of the surface map are not shown, and it almost appears as though the obelisks could have been underwater, given the cliffs on all sides and locations in the very corners. As for the massive cave system, was it similar to the Aberration Cave on Val? Or did it look completely different at that time?
Can certainly leave your opinions, I think it’s an interesting concept, but I’m sure people will disagree. Feel free to leave comments/ other suggestions
