Astrocetus wandering off and what you should do about it

So apparently there is a bug where astrocetus will wander off. I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon if at all but I know several things to do about it and would appreciate if people would post other things you can do to stop them as well.

Solution no.1: Build a huge cage for your space whale or just lock it in a huge cave with behemoth gates.

Solution no.2: Keep your space whale in a cryopod until it is necessary. 

Solution no.3: Have it follow a dinosaur, it will still wander but will always come back.

Solution no.4: Put a transponder node on it.

Solution no.5: Keep it in water, they seem to not wander when in water and can also be used for underwater artifact caves or killing alpha mosas/tusos.

Solution no.6: Encumber the space whale.

Solution no.7: Dino leash. We have loads above our bases and thet never move. Some of m arent even in a dino leash
