Before I even click any menu items. I have tried restarting the comp, updating the video card, deleting all Ark files and then reinstalling the game... Nothing is helping. None of that stuff exists on the F drive, so I'm unsure what that is about. Not to be cliche, but literally unplayable applies here haha. I've removed all mods, all DLC, uninstalled and reinstalled, make sure GPU drivers were up to date, uninstalled and reinstalled GPU drives (Which made me go through hell getting NMS to work again), rebooted a bunch of times, tried steam in offline mode, tried running without steam. I've yet to try reinstalling it from the Epic store... since it takes overnight to download. XiaFang Posted November 10, 2020 Share Posted November 10, 2020 You should try verifying your game files. If any are found to be corrupt, it will automatically download replacements. I have to do this occasionally myself. To verify your game files in Steam, go into your game Library, right-click Ark Survival Evolved and choose Properties. XiaFang Posted November 10, 2020 Share Posted November 10, 2020 There is one more thing that i've had to do, but it was for fixing when my game was crashing on launch. Not sure if you want to try this or not because it resets all your settings to default and I think it may even reset any explorer notes and unlocks you've acquired. As a last resort, when my game was crashing on launch, I went into my Ark files and renamed my "Saved" file to something like "Saved.OLD". I don't play SP so i wasn't worried about losing any progress for it. When I restarted Ark, it built a new Saved folder and like I said, all my settings reset to the default and I think I lost my unlocks, but my game was able to start without crashing. By renaming the Saved folder and not deleting it, you have the option to delete the new one and rename it back to get all your settings back, but i didn't try that to know if it works or not. I just changed my settings to what I liked and didn't worry about the explorer notes. If you try this method, I would proceed with caution, especially if you play SP. There may be specific files inside the folder that you could remove without renaming the folder, but I'm not sure what those would be. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

arkark Posted November 11, 2020 Share Posted November 11, 2020 Update game if you havent done, because that screen is from .19 version and if recent it should be .28. The crash is happening at IsValid() function, and if you look at the backtrace there is a call to something enough descriptive to guess what it is: FAmazonS3MultipartUpload... I would bet it is due the problem that happened some days ago that they said it was cloudflare probably masking the S3 Storage service they use for god knows what. Basically what I think is happening is that your game client is internally trying to access some ark resource via web, it recieves a bad response and your client crash due to that. I doubt file validation gonna help. Probably will fix by either updating or checking if you have some problem in your network (or maybe its the same problem that happened the other day but I would discard given that there would be much more people complaining with a similar crash screenshoot). Also if you applied the workaround that some ppl gave days ago (editing of c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts to add the hosts arkdedicated.com and sapi2.arkdedicated.com) then remove this changes. Tried everything from running steam on admin, revalidating files, clearing all saved mods, and reinstalling. Still not solving the problem.
