Disregard Wasted Points and Create Mindwipe for Dino Tames

SinNombre

Suggestion

Wild dinos that randomly put points into movement speed are all wasted because it does nothing for it at all.

A level 5 Rex and a level 100 Rex will have the same stat in movement speed, even if all points go into it.

These rates are even worse for sea tames such as a Tuso, Mosa, or Basilo because points are still being distributes in both oxygen and movement speed, when they don’t even use oxygen.

I’ve tested the rates in single player with official settings and spawned in 30 Mosas at level 150. Only one of them had a low wasted stat distribution in oxygen and movement speed.

Unless you want to nerf sea tames and make them weaker than they already are, just keep these rates exactly where they are.

But why not also wipe all the official servers, limit mutations to 10 on both sides, scale down max level dinos to level 300, and rebalance the game while you’re at it?

As compensation for rebalancing and reworking dinos, give us a recipe to make a Dino Mindwipe tonic so we can reset their stats.

Perhaps some side effects could be a loss in 50 levels for each use, or they will be unconscious for 24 hours.

Edit:

The Mindwipe would not reset the tamed creature back to level 1. It will reset the level to where it was originally at during post-tame or when it had fully matured, right before it started gaining exp and players were able to manually level it up.

This has nothing to do with your title, why even mention it?

Why explain how dinos waste levels in Speed and Oxy(Water Dinos) if you're not going to fix that problem somehow. Instead, you propose a HUGE change to mutations, level cap, and apparently stats while trying to ask for a Mindwipe that won't help dinos at all, especially if it has some detrimental side effect.

Instead, make movement speed levels count for wild dinos(Barring Flyers of course), and simply find a fix for oxygen on ocean dinos and amphibians. Now creatures are getting more speed(Which may shake up the breeding scene a bit) and water creatures get some better stats.

That’s right, an entire server wipe seems a bit too extreme.

Devs can continue boosting rates to help new players catch up to Alpha Mega Tribes, and rework dinos to make things fair for everyone.

I definitely agree with creating a fix for these wasted stat points. We waste so much time trying to find good dinos to breed.

Just take a look at these two images

Pre-tame: https://ibb.co/gT5MCVc

Post Tame:

https://ibb.co/KjJT9md

If you plug in these values for a level 150 Baryonyx, it shows that the dino had 30 points into health at Pre-tame. Out 73 total points with it’s preferred kibble, it only received 8 points into health after it was tamed.

But why didn’t it get the most of it’s values for health? After plugging in the rest of the stats into dododex, you’ll see that it already had 45 points wasted into oxygen and movement speed, and during Post-tame it had a total of 59 wasted points into both these categories.

Has anyone had better luck taming water dinos?

Our tribe always had problems like this with all of our water dinos. They should definitely fix this and have the points go into different stats, or actually make the movement speed values count.

IMHO a Dino Mindwipe too OP. Just clone the dino before you level it, breed another, or go tame better ones.

@Qwertymine

Yeah I was already outraged because I spent so much time looking for the perfect mosa and squid, then found out it affects all water tames.

Newer players only have a chance to catch up if they purchase Genesis and do quests there. Otherwise, we're just stuck with what we got.

I do like your idea about making water dinosaurs have increased movement speed in the wild. It would really spice things up a bit.
