They try to force update to correct game breaking mechanics like going out of wall borders / meshing / dupe

I was in the same position. taming a 150 Griffin when I heard update ping,then lost connection.

After it came back thou no harm was done, as situation was for me ,exactly as when the server went down,just kept the taming process till finished.

I am still a little perplexed by the OP.  I was online all that night and was never knocked off for an update.  Was it an unofficial server?

No idea if they are on official or unofficial, I just know they complain a lot.

Had the same issue myself....had a level 90 yuty out of it and while I was lucky enough to slap 20 jellies on him just before the update, he woke up, starved to death, and I had a lvl 40 saber sitting in his place, belching and patting his belly.
