wyvern went missing

since my last login 3 days ago a wyvern has gone missing from the roof. there's no one else in the tribe and the wyvern's supposingly in passive.

there's no record in tribe log of antimesh killing it

the question now is:

1) is it possible to use a whale to move another tribe's dino in pve?

2) is it possible to use a skiff to move another tribe's dino in pve?

3) can teleporter move dinos in ORP?

there are trolls on the server who grief people because its amusing to them so I'm wondering if any of these are pausible situation.

I've tried looking around in the immediate area. if the wyvern was out handling an aggro it would have landed somewhere nearby and still within the base

They can fly away to, and landing and making sure they are stationary helps, but they sometimes glitch out and take a hike even after that. Check a sphere of approximately render radius away from where you left it, I've found a few just chilling at the top of the map at about 30 degree angles from where I left them (30 degrees off from them having flown straight up). I've heard they can go further than render but never experienced it, except once I had one run away and was unable to find it despite several expanding grid searches from where I left it going to about 3x render away, eventually that one auto decayed so I never knew where it got to.

It's a stupid bug and it's happening.
Tames simply decide to start walking alone in a straight line and leave.
I've been using locators on my dragons, but ... It's also broken and nodes disappear...

I haven't used transponder nodes in a long time, but I remember the last time I used them and they kept disappearing I realized that they take damage from wild dinos attacking, and are eventually destroyed. I thought that was retarded so I quit using them.

I landed and made sure it stood still before logging off. also how far can they walk within a compound?

I flew around the map whistling all follow. can't find it

I guess antimesh got him. somehow. I'm pretty sure it was still around 2 days ago when I popped by.

then suddenly its gone today

You would get message if antimesh got it. But like said before wyverns randomly start walking or flying in directions. Especially if you jump of from them while pressing forward or backward movement key + lag spike. Also they can be sitting in lakes or oceans. I have found tamed wyvernsin deepest parts of the oceans.

They can walk or fly off, if they're in a compound they might still walk off because of rendering glitches. Try using H key to activate the chevron and fly around with an owl using predator vision. It might have found a secluded spot or trapped itself not far from your base.

definitely not. others have seen it before it disappeared as well. again I must say I watched it stay still before I log off. there's no deep ocean near me, just rivers. I flew over them whistling too.

but the wyverns aren't drowning? that's interesting. how did they even manage to not hover over water

Wyverns cant drown. They can walk underwater fine. They just throw you out of their backs.

Walking bug will make flyer ignore structures often. So walls, gates and any other object affected by rendering range will mean nothing. Only terrain can be an obstacle since it's always on.

As for how far they can walk, my wyvern's record is ~800m so far.

One of conditions that will trigger them to start walking is when someone renders them while tribe is offline, If they keep rendering and following it then I assume there is no limit and if we disregard in-game obstacles like mountains or world-barrier, glitched flyer would hypothetically just keep walking forever.

You said there are griefers, so they might have escorted your wyvern as far as they could.

Also, I suspect antimesh can disintegrate your dino without any message in log.

Had passive giga disappear from base without death or any other log-entry. PVE. Solo. Far from any resource/dino spawn or any protected/enforced areas. Even explorer note is outside the gates. Few tames around it was still there and my only guess is that 2-3 trees grew through giga and despawned it.

Well someone rendering it is not the trigger. It just continues where it left when it was unrendered. Remember everything is in stasis when there is noone to render.

I have concluded it's antimesh without log.

flew around the map with whistle all

checked underwater too. nothing's walking down there.

guess we'll find out when it actually gets deleted.

not too worried about it since it's not an important mount, just used it to reset timers

but it is most interesting to see that even when the flyer has completed stopped it can suddenly start walking again without any triggers

I had one,  newley transferred to my main Island base from CI. Logged out and wasn't back on for a few days,  when I did login it was gone. I started to think maybe I'd forgotten to downooad it from the transmitter or something.

However a neighbour messaged me in chat he'd been watching for me coming back on the server. He'd spotted my wyvern a good way across the map, stuck in the side of someone elses base. It looked as though it had walked, phased through our unrendered structures and only stopped walking when it came up against a solid object that was the other tribes base

as per tribe log today...

so it walked. it walked so far. but at least its a closure. guess I didn't fly around enough. I thought I've covered most of the map but it appears I missed somewhere.

rip. at least I still have him in a previous save.

thanks wc
