PotionSeller
Game lagging even though taskmanager is fine Never questioned anything about ark because it's ark, obviously it's laggy as all hell. but I decided to finally check my task manager after 5k hours and saw that everything in my system is below 40% while playing, even though in big bases the game decides to run at 20fps. All temperatures are fine too, actively monitoring everything while playing and nothing even comes slightly close to what is considered high. Anyone else have this problem? Usuallyafk
People have been trying to figure this out for years man. It always goes back to the game not being optimized at all & they use terrible quality servers. Thats literally all it is. You can mess with the INI to get better FPS but you can't fix the lag even with a VPN & great internet speeds.
Larkfields
Lag can happen when textures and geometry are transferred from RAM/CPU to GPU, and when data is transferred from server to client. It's not always visible in TaskManager. Flying near large bases requires a substantial data transfer from server to client. If the server is busy with other players then you'll notice lag, but your CPU will appear to be doing almost nothing.
