Cesitar257
Update Why does Ark take 2 hours to update 100m? It is literally the game that takes the longest to update, I have an ssd and it takes a lot, I've seen a game on HDD take much less, Does anyone play on HDD? it must be hell ?? Piffguru
SSD vs HDD doesnt make any difference in downloading, thats internet speed related. Now if you are talking about the install portion of the update than that would make more sense but even then Ive never had that problem with ark nor any other game with my HDD. Martellus
@Cesitar257 I noticed this too. The game downloads really fast, but once it goes into "installing" it takes like forever on my SSD. My take is how many files (lines of code?) are being updated vs other games. Its not exclusive to Ark mind you, but yes, Ark suffers from this constantly compared to others. Its a curious thing indeed, but it doesn't impact me much as I do other stuff while its updating. Ark is a really big game, I believe it is still the largest game I have installed, so naturally there are more files to go for updates than other titles, hence why some files could take longer to tackle than others. I am no specialist however, I am merely sharing my perception. There was a time I thought I understood things well, but now days I am being more careful with my preconceptions. Cheers!
