The point is that it makes getting the buff harder, because you can accidentally dismount. Water should just bump them away, and only dismount if they have no more stamina. As much as I want a Wyvern that can go into water and "fly" around, I'm not quite sure I'd want it to be the Tropical Crystal Wyvern unless the other Wyvern types got big buffs as well.
