Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the dossier mention manta is a bare back mount? Wonder if they changed their minds, or if the saddle is optional.

"While not the fastest swimmer around the island Manta Mobula is among the deadliest of small ocean mounts and can be ridden bare-back. Tribes who value striking power over speed often keep large schools of Manta to ride. Its capability to briefly leap out of water provides it a showy tactic for avoiding combat as well."

Devs, idk if ur reading this, but if u are, can u PLEASE fix the underwater controls and mechanics for spinos? It is an endless pain to try and put one in an underwater cave with their spacebar ascending and swimming forward at the same time, its annoying! I cant properly move it at all! And it's floating thing? CHange that too! Get rid of its 02 bar if u have to! Atm, it's just not a good mount to use for my undersea things with all these just debilitating flaws!

Tame a SEA mount? O.o I have not come across any "debilitating flaws" when it comes to Spinos being used as intended.

I don't know what cave you are having problems getting into, you can also move the camera up and move forward just not as fast or well as spacebar I believe.

and the dossier said that the manta wasnt the fastest sea mount. yet we're having "manta races." oh well...

btw for those who are wondering, the pc update is NOT out yet.

The dolphins will still be the kings of speed! But hopefully the mantas will be able to kill something to at least feed itself....

I would assume death. I've not seen the Devs teleport anything to keep dinos alive in the past ... Which is why beached dolphins can still happen.

nah. Knowing ark, they probably would put an invisible barrier at the shoreline, like they did with megalodon. Besides, too many people would complain.

I'm hoping they have an H2O stat which would be the similar to the oxygen stat for land creatures only reversed.  This would be cool because you could potentially move them into lakes and rivers that don't have ocean access. (Every sea creature should have this stat imo). It would also give you a chance to wiggle your way back into water if you do get beached.

From what I've seen they actually tend to beach themselves a lot, both when attacking you (they appear to be aggressive despite being a passive tame and it doesn't seem like there is any way to not aggro them and still get close enough to feed them.) and attacking other things. They are extremely fast, especially once tamed and if they are set to follow you, they can kill themselves by flying out of the water and landing on the beach. I've lost two already to this, and more than a dozen I've tried to tame as well. It's quite irritating, so unless in the open ocean I wouldn't suggest leaping out of the water while riding it. As I'd assume the same thing would happen if you were riding the manta and you beached it by accident.

I am assuming that they would die because I have been trolled on PvE where someone put a ton of boats in my water pen and it killed my dolphin because I couldn't get it out and it got trapped on a boat and insta died.

p.s. I got pay back

Interested to see the primitive cannon at work and pleased for the new brood mother arena.

Yeah Broodmother Arena is really awesome. Takes in the worst case days to collect the artifacts and Mats to craft needed ammo etc for 2min fight and a Trophy that everyone allready ownes. Also that ki is so extremly stupid. Piranhas are sometimes harder to kill
