Primitive + Network Failure

Can't co-op with Primitive +

My friend and I have been trying to play Ark Primitive + together for a while and cannot get it to work. Each time I get the game invite  I always get the "Network Failure Message" "Unable to query server info for invite." Any ideas how to fix this? Watched several videos and forums and non of them seem to make much sense to us. We only play with just the two of us sometimes another friend joins in. Any help at all would be appreciated.
