Moonie1
Dino level mystery Im breeding tek rexes on a new server. I just got a 288 male and twin 290 females that have the exact same stats and no mutations. Why the 2 level difference if the stats are the same and no mutations? Cowgirl
I believe (and I could be wrong cause the breeding mechanics on this game confuse me) that the levels can be anywhere between the parents tamed/born levels (without mutations). I once bred my gigas, who were at the time mid and high level. The baby got the low level of the mom and the high stats of the dad.

I once bred my gigas, who were at the time mid and high level. The baby got the low level of the mom and the high stats of the dad. The level of a creature is simply a reflection of its stats + 1. For example, every creature starts at level 1, so if you have a Rex with 50 hp, 50 stamina, 50 oxygen, 50 food, 50 weight, 50 melee and 50 speed then it will be level 1+50+50+50+50+50+50+50 = 351. So your baby didn't get the level of the mom and the stats of the dad, but rather inherited a mix of low and high stats between the parents. As for OP, his baby must simply have a difference of 2 points into speed, which is why there is no visual differences nor mutation markers. Moonie1
Thank you Invicible, I totally spaced on checking speed and you are 100% correct, there was 2 extra points there.
