whoareyou
You will never progress unless you are in a big tribe. The only way to survive is in a tribe of 20+ active players, with friends in larger tribes who can help you out with eggs, breeders, element gachas and so on. You will need to find a strong cave like glowtail or shadows on aberration, ice cave or carno cave on island, north ice cave, bear cave or pearl cave on center, etc . . put up a mix of 100 heavy/tek turrets at the entrance and have people online around the clock to defend it. That is your only realistic chance to progress and experience end game stuff. If you can't do that, then you need to get used to living without. This doesn't mean you won't have fun, you can have a lot of fun living a minimalist life, but just temper your expectations. You're not going to have a mek or a tek suit unless you're in a decent, established tribe.
Olivar
Don't play official or on servers with big tribes. Only solution there is to join them.
GuluNation
No argument, official big tribes pvp is tough as a solo or even small tribe but it can be done. If you want to go that way for the challenge, for us the trick was keep adapting how we play. Making some allies with decent players in the bigger tribes was a good way to get some back up and advance a bit without being wiped every 5 mins (instead every 10 mins...). Staying small and hidden deffo works well. Hidden stashes, backup stashes. Also up the raiding more to get what you need - can be a lot more fun than constant grind, wiped and repeat. Expect any base to be raided, any stash to be found eventually, expect the game to randomly ark you, try not to get salty about it, just accept that's PVP and keep the blood pressure down. You can use the obs to stash important cryo-tames if you play most days - watch out for campers, use out of the way supply drops if you can and a flier. If you want to be more visible and set up in more obvious spots, ally up with tribes from different time zones to reduce off lining and have all your base stuff and defenses ready to go up in one go. If alphas are being idiots with the smaller tribes, from a good hidden spot or stash, even without a base you can keep scouting and raid their operations... if you´re good at it, you´ve a lot less to lose, chances are you´ll get some decent high tier tames to add to your collection and they may even prefer a cease fire with you than keep looking over their shoulder all the time on a home server. Else small tribes, a decent unofficial with some community rules + a less toxic crowd or even PVE are all good options.
