Coming from someone who had a bad time on officials, and flocks here with the rest to bash Wild Card.

While technically that's true,  I don't flock anywhere, I'm here because I care enough to be a loud, blaring and annoying voice in these forums.  However hiding behind the premise of "private servers are better" isn't any better, nor are the servers. No matter the rebuttal, there is simply no way to escape the truth and that is that the game is broken and needs to be fixed, period, end of story.

Not saying that private servers are always better, but I see less people complaining about them lagging and crashing compared to people complaining about officials... Not to speak of the better moderation to prevent cheating, hackers and rule breaking.

And yes, the game does have issues that need fixing, and they are working on the problems. The reason these fixes don't happen in a day is because of the consequences a change could result in. Take for instance the anti-mesh system: after it launched, server performance problems started. The system is being worked on to improve performance, and given its complexity, it's not going to be fixed fast.

And, for people who complain about them releasing new stuff instead of fixing the old stuff, they of course have different people working on different things. So there are people working on the problems while others work on the new content.

Thank you! "Brown nosing" means you are sick of the whiny entitled ignorant children I guess? That moron has zero clue about a d*** thing but, just like the other whiny ignorant children, needs something to b**** about.

Well, here's the thing. My husband, our 2 children, and myself all play ark. We were waiting till a few days before launch to see if we would buy the dlc, for all 4 of our ps4 systems. We wanted to see if WC would care enough to fix the major issues. We were almost convinced when they fixed the meshing. But they still don't care about DDOSing (FFXIV has certain Firewalls in place to detect when their servers are being DDOSed; from when the DDOSing starts to reboot to continuation of gameplay, the entire process is maybe 10 minutes).
But now there is this "become an ark gm" hack on official now where entire tribes are being wiped and I have to take drastic precautions to TRY to keep my tribe safe with no word from WC as to what they plan to do about it.
So, nope, not going to spend any more money on this game. It's been 5 years. Same issues plus many horrible new ones. The "it takes time" is irrelevant. WC you're out of time. How you can try to market a new dlc when you haven't fixed the problems with the old one is beyond me. It's like "here is the broken product and look at this new broken product you can also buy".

I bet you have a wildcard tattoo don't you? Maybe a portrait of Ced on your chest? LOL.

When I refer to brown nosing, I refer to all those people out there who make a solid decision to ignore the issues the game has, instead focusing on gerrymandering for features and new content or to otherwise set their own agenda into motion. Rather than focusing on core principles that any respectable studio would want to follow.

  • You can't play the game if the game servers won't stay up.
  • You can't expect players who pvp to continue to support a  title that allows bugs and exploits to ruin competitive pvp.
  • You can't expect players who get their characters randomly deleted in transfer to want to keep leveling more.
  • You can't expect players who lose entire dino collections to bugs/exploits/deletions to want to invest more time.
  • You can't expect players to want to invest in a DLC if their prior experiences playing have been sub par.
  • This isn't a flea market with a mystery bag labelled DLC.  Players want to know what they are going to get.

Yet for some reason many in this community shrug their shoulders and cop out with "It's just how Ark is."  This game is based off the concept of investing time into building up dinos, resources, building warring factions, and it all takes significant time and effort. Sure we're not out there hammering rail spikes in the Sahara, but when issues critical to the gameplay and retention of loyal players get this bad,  sitting on your hands and stapling your mouth shut isn't really an option unless you just like the abuse.  What I see is a large majority of our community being complacent and just letting this company run us over with a steam roller citing behavioral trends the studio has had in the past. What needs to happen is the studio needs to be held accountable for their product and it needs to be given a stronger foundation to pile these new DLCs on top of with an at least stable platform and server infrastructure. But heck what do I know right, i'm just some dumb moron who doesn't know anything.

Yet more ammo to further prove me right lmao. Whiny. Ignorant. Children. Just ignore the fact that I already stated that there are things that I hate about how the game has been handled, bugs, etc. Ya, it doesn't fit your ignorant nerd rage so you just ignore it :) Grow up kiddo. It's just a game. Does it suck that things break? Sure! But you have had FAR more value given to you from this game than almost any other ever, compared to price you paid vs usage. There are great ways to voice opinions on bugs and issues that don't involve spewing filth nonstop and whining and throwing a 2 year old tantrum. I would suggest maybe trying them? Until then, you only prove me 110% correct ?

Not trying to interfere with this dilemma but you guys are arguing over a Dinosaur game. If a company doesnt fix bugs and exploits and you dont like it, STOP PLAYING THE GAME. I know that sounds very cheesy but come on guys grow up. Lets just try and keep some positive vibes for the up coming DLC. I know that can be hard with all the glitching, Exploits and drama going around, but hey its a game.

Sleep on the 25th, log in the 26th... the 25 is probably gonna be plagued with crashes anyway...

Ya, it's gonna have issue most likely. They haven't had a great release ever, tho Abberation was at least mostly solid. I play unofficial servers now tho, so thankfully ill get the 1st day release feeling without having to deal with official server crashes and bleh. STILL tho, there's nothing like the rush of a fresh server even on official. The thrill of everyone starting naked and weary of every hill and corner :) So even if the 25th is a mess for official, I would advise having some fun but go in knowing that there will be potential issues so as to not be as unsetting if/when they happen.

Even if there are crashes it will give some people that cant get into the server a chance to play :)
