Cowgirl
Bees are being really weird right now though, so if you have more than one you might test it before doing it because they have been poofing.

It hasnt happened to me, I have read about it on the forums, I believe someone specified that they were not duped, but I could be confusing it with another topic. Even freshly tamed ones won't spawn back a Queen when their hive is demoed. Pretty sure they are aware of it, and may get a fix for it at some point. Brad5674
Yes I noticed this about a week or two ago. I tried 8 hives fresh tamed, I placed then demolished l, no queens inside. I use bee hives a a source of trade and it kinda pisses me off that I have to trade in pods now.

Last summer i demolished 6 hives and got bee back from one. Rest went poof.

They were fine for a while after that, and just recently started being empty (across all versions, single-player, etc. they are just empty all the time now). ItWasntMe
What i did was tame a bee but didnt pick it up and cryopod it and transfered
AwesomeRon
I had several freshly tamed ones (by me) not give a bee back. I tame on aberration, then place the hives from honey the next day. Destroy hive and nothing is there. They are easy to tame, but it is frustrating to have to do it all over again.

Cant remember when i got those bees. But i have vague memories of that same thing happening before extinction was released very often.
Dws
I had 2 beehives that were down way before the homestead update, and when changing my base around I had to move them to expand a building. With this bug I tried letting one starve. No bee, the next I piked yo demolish still no bee. Def not duped hive. Tamed up a few in ab and cryo them for transfer. Some stacked hives had multiple queens in them that made it easy.
AwesomeRon
It’s frustrating for sure. But it’s been a bug for a long time and it’s way low on the priority list. So we will just keep taming new bees I guess.
