AirplaneSlider
Alpha Raptor near my base An alpha raptor level 65 recently spawned near my base. I have 7 trikes each with about 600 health and 220% melee damage. Will they be able to kill the alpha raptor level 65, or should I bring my 5 dilos along with the trikes? Thanks
PertySlick
With a Trike's knockback it is possible to solo an Alpha Raptor. But it will be a LONG dance of strike at the right time and moving to keep your Trike in the ideal strike range. And sticking to that ideal range will get difficult when you run out of stamina. If done perfectly you can do this with no damage. I honestly don't know what kind of losses you should expect sending in your tames. I killed my very first Alpha (Raptor) using a Trike. If you have an Argy you can fly just right above it's head and strike it without taking any damage.

I don’t have an argy, but I have a pteranodon lvl 78. Could the spin attack possible kill it?

Shoot it in the head for extra damage. I know normal raptors cannot break wood, so can alpha raptors break stone? I am wondering because it’s easier to make a wooden trap. Vape123
just make a wooden one itll be dead before it breaks the wood
RageQuitter
Just use your best melee trike, once you get the timing down you'll kill it easy especially if there's some higher ground you can stand on and hit it, biggest problem is any predators in the area that get buffed and come to help it out, the raptor alone isn't that big a deal

GrumpyBear
Stone will break by them, but it can take awhile. Wood would break fast.

I killed an alpha raptor and alpha carno at the same time once, but then the great flyer nerf happened. I am sure one could still do it but it would take FOREVER. Also you would be outta luck if one of his raptor friends showed up and yoinked you off your flier.

And now that the pounce animation can dismount so much easier I would be surprised if you could consistently pull this attack off without getting yoinked from your ride. But I could be wrong as I am not willing to try

I've heard of straight up WYVERNS getting pinned. Used to just be small creatures.

It dismounts you earlier to give you a short window to avoid the actual pin. I cannot drop carried Raptors from my Argy anymore without it pinning me in mid-air as soon as I release it. Jemcrystal
plant species x is easy for a low level (not beginner) player to plant and maintain - most maps it rains enough you don't need to irrigate them with pipes just plant them during a rain - three or more will kill an alpha - one will slow it enough you can send your pets in for the kill
NukeGoose
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the tried and tried method of caging an alpha raptor. It wont damage the cage and they are too dumb not to run into the cage. Just place a cage, grab agro, quickly dip behind open cage and slide arround to shut door. The simply spear the alpha raptors head off.
ThePryBar
@AirplaneSlider 8 stone door frames 8 wood or stone fence foundations, make a hexagon, stand inside and shoot it to get the alpha Raptors attention. Then simply pull out your best pike (bring two primitive pikes) and stabby stabby. Real easy
