Lenik
Lack of Spinos in theIsland77 Two of us have been looking for spinos for 50 minutes in this server. But we couldn't find a single one... I don't know what's wrong with the spawn rate, but it's insane.
SnowboundGem
Have people built up where they spawn? Once this happens they become super rare.
SuaveHyena
Kill fish in lakes and rivers. They take up biome spawn slots which are shared with the Spino.
SnowboundGem
Sorry I was just editing to include that vital piece of info. Glad you mentioned it too.

AdligerAdler
I've had most luck in the river that leads from green ob to the ocean. (river marked yellow) In the river between Redwood and the vulcano there also spawn spinos, but less reliably from my experience.
Oieru
Same on Island346. Spawns are extremely rare, even with killing fish. And the fact that there are bases all around the spawns does not help. A ticket didn't solve the problem. It was so bad before some bases auto-decayed, that nobody could fight alpha Megapithecus for months.
deedoubleu
Eventhough spawn map shows any place with fish as potential spino spawn, it is incorrect. In reality there are much tighter spots where spinos spawn and as mentioned above you can't just look for them, you need to work for it. Though you can get 1 spino at each spot after server restart, it's not guaranteed, but probability is very high. Note that there are very few(~10) spots that can actually produce a spino and none of them is protected area so blocking it is not against CoC. You can completely block spinos from spawning on Island map and support will just nod and give you thumbs up. If every fish spawn was also a potential spino spawn, getting sails would not be such a chore, but devs seem to be happy with current state. All you can get from them is same suggestion as you got here "kill all fish".

This is the rout I take I go south at the point where the line ends through the swamp, spinos don't usually spawn in the swamp but doing that big circle makes enough time for things to spawn while you were gone. Exactly what i do to, gives me 5-10 per hour.

Definitely, I have forced quite a few event spinos to spawn doing that. OP it is best if you can go on a spino and eat the fish as you go, a giga will work too but theyre usually slower than spinos in general. (cause terrible stam)
Luewen
Except even killing fish dont help if ppl build their bases in the rivers. Thats why they are considering adding a small no build zone around rivers.
