You can either stack through mods, or through INI. The negative to using INI is that you can't modify how heavy it is (Eg a stack of 400 metal will still weigh the same as two stacks despite being only one stack). Most mods have custom weights, but the downside to mods is that if the mod is removed, all the stack mod items (everything it changes the stack size of) are deleted. Additionally, if you load into a server that has cross-ark transfers enabled and doesn't have the stack mod installed, while you have a stack mod item in your obelisk, it'll bug out the obelisk slots. (The item will disappear and be unrecoverable, but however many slots had the stack mod items in them will always show as filled). And only way to get the slots back is deleting the obelisk file, which includes not only your items and tames, but also your minimap progress and explorer notes, so those would get wiped as well). But it's up to you which option you wanna go with- Custom weight, and you just have to be careful; or your single 400 stack of metal weighs just as much as two stacks.

(On reflection, maybe it'd be worth asking WC for the ability to give items ini- customisable weights ?)
