Dinos taking a while to lay eggs

Make sure they are mate-boosted (Heart-Symbol) and tame an oviraptor and keep that one with wandering active near so you get the blinking white egg-symbol also. You can stuff the oviraptor full with wood or stone so its actually not moving but it needs to have wander active for that buff. In addition there can only be 6 eggs of one type within a certain radius and a maximum of 20 (not sure about the exact number but its around that) af all eggs combined so if you have other egg-layers close by  that have eggs on the floor those can prevent new eggs from dropping.

Also: Dinos only lay eggs when they are in render range of a player so if you have them in your base but you yourself are out and about harvesting etc. they will only lay eggs if you are close enough to your base for them to be loaded in.

There is no max eggs laying in an area. I have had 15 same dino eggs laying around at same time and multiple others. Info on wiki is outdated. There might still be max but its no longer 6 or 20. However when rendered, mate boosted and oviraptor boosted, there is a change to lay egg approx every 11 minutes. However if you go out of render range and back the change resets and there can be new egg laid instantly. You keep doing that a while and you may find 3 eggs laying on top of each other.
