One of the strongest emotions is Fear, and the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO for short) is an incredibly strong behavioral motivator that most people have trouble overcoming. Advertisers and marketing departments literally depend on this emotional state to get people to buy stuff they otherwise wouldn't need, with money they literally do not have. Speculative markets like the stock market have bull runs because people are afraid of missing out on profits, and then lose their shirt because they didn't understand what they were buying.

Generally, if you have something that is scarce and enough people want it, then FOMO takes over and people turn into spazzy children until they get it. FOMO is what fuels capitalism and consumerism.

Knowing this, you can simply wait for about a week until all the emotionally immature players have their spat over virtual items (that they won't care about a month from now), and then you'll be able to loot all the raptor clause presents you want.

Let them fight. This just give you the opportunity to learn who is a jerk and who isn't on your server. Let them fight for the gifts for a day or two, then they will have enough for their stuff and you will most certainly be able to collect some peacefully. Either that or play the game; first come, first serve. Even if someone is waiting, they are not owning the loot until it is in their inventory so it is fair game to be faster to actually take it.

Why would you guys (Wildcard) not create some kind of alternative or multiple ways to collecting coals and such for holiday skins and items. People are literally fighting over a few drops from the raptor clause.

Every year. Bu next week, they won't. Go then. That's what I do every year.
