Disappearing dinosaurs

Okay. So this carnotaur has apparently been stalking me. It’s invaded my camp and eaten my entire dodo flock, a few at a time.

The thing is, it disappears while the music is still playing. I went out to try and kill it during the last two kills, halloween music was playing, but no dinosaur. I know it’s a carnotaur because I saw it kill three wandering dodos from a distance. During attacks at my camp, however, I hear it approach and kill my dodos, but when I jump out of my house to shoot it it’s gone but the music is still playing. During the last kill I was outside on roving guard, the dino ate my dodo (which was right outside my door and I have a small, cramped camp specifically so I’m not far away when something happens while I’m guarding it), and I didn’t see it at all.

Is this a bug?

Step out of house, lay down prone, switch to orbit view and attempt to see if you have a carno under the ground stuck in the mesh.

Its unlikely, but when you rule out the obvious and what can be viewed in front of you...
