In all likelihood probably. It won't work until the devs truly return the game to the classic state that existed in 2015. We are talking about a time when land dinos ruled the earth, flyers were mere auxiliaries, Giga's hadn't been thought of yet, resources were hard to come by, breeding wasn't a thing, TEK didn't exist and a full metal base was a rarity.

The PVP back then was fantastic because there a greater sense of balance. It didn't come down to Gigas -> * or imprinted dino ->*, there was more to the game then stats.

Classic pvp has more players per server on average than small tribes or main officials. You can check numbers for classic, 6man, official and other clusters on real time here. arkbrowser.com/clusters

Just because salt discord tribes are not playing anymore does not mean classic is dead. These people are deluded, they think the entire ark community revolve around them when they are a tiny elitist fraction of the pvp scene.

Classic is best mode for smaller tribes. There are not as many megatrine level threats. And gap between alphas and fresh tribes is much smaller. Breedlines are not crazy yet, anyone can start lines today, and have fair chance of competing and becoming alpha.

Breeding broke pvp. Its a good idea in theory and nice for pve, but implementation was extremely poor for pvp server balance. Breeding dinos cost nothing. You can raise endless number of dinos for minimum effort. Which bring us to todays officials where individual players own hundreds of gigas. Taming takes much more effort and skill than breeding, yet tamed dinos are complete trash. The game itself was balanced with taming in mind. Powerful dinos were balanced by being much harder to tame. If breeding were to be disabed it would not be as easy to spam nothing but army of theriz, rhinos and gigas with perfect stats. People would actually use things like raptors and dire bears. And with OP god dino linea gone all tribes would be on fair and even footing. Unlike today where its impossible to play officials unless you are in a mega or can trade for level 400+ dino lines.

Get rid of breeding and all dinos but parasaurs, and there's going to be that tribe that tames more high-level parasaurs than every one else. 

Make all parasaurs the same level and cap their numbers, there's going to be that tribe who respecs crafting and makes better saddles.

Get rid of high-quality saddles and there's going to be that tribe who brings more players.

Cap tribe size, and there's going to be that tribe who treats Ark like war instead of a game and shows no mercy.

Give everyone the same dinos, the same saddles, the same point of view, and then we'll all be on equal footing (as we leave the game en masse).

smp again with his trolling, he plays on a private pvp server with a pocket admin if he has issues but involves himself in every discussion, makes fun of peoples ideas and tries to dump them down while playing on private pvp. A basic internet troll, who no one should take serious.

On the topic: Classic PVP is not dead but the ''no breeding'' or very limited breeding could prevent future issues with OP lines ruling everything.
