Jrminot Posted March 26, 2016 Share Posted March 26, 2016 I imagine it is a balancing thing. Caves are designed to be very difficult and as such, they provide very good loot. Being able to bring birds in significantly decreases the difficulty of the caves and makes getting high lvl loot somewhat trivial. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Perhaps they should account for birds when designing the caves, its obvious that a cave with a water limiter built into the cave makes it so birds must be left behind. Seems to me that making birds unmountable is just a cheap feeling workaround. Additionally, this causes problems for servers using map mods like Valhalla. The caves are not loot producers there but are places to take refuge. We just need to make this switchable by the server owners, we pay good money the make this game fun for players that would not necessarily play on an official server, and that equates to more sales of the game. Brindled Posted March 26, 2016 Share Posted March 26, 2016 The entitlement aside, I agree that it could or should be made an option so modded servers/content doesn't suffer under its penalties. just sayin.... I also wanted to add that it may be too early to make a judgment on this for the mods' sake considering many things can be changed by them. Deej Posted March 26, 2016 Share Posted March 26, 2016 This definitely needed to be done, no real challenging content on this game right now besides trying to stay awake during tame times, and this is coming from a guy who labeled himself KOS on PvP servers 213 and still having big tribes paying me to leave them alone.. But yeah, like a lot of people said, the caves are meant to be challenging. You shouldnt be able to fly in and grab an artifact in a matter of 60 seconds. Everyone I've seen go in there gets shredded lol I built a 2x2 house to breed it in, I cleared the whole cave with 1k arrows and grappling hooks, grapple to the ceiling and shoot yetis and wolves.
