Of course, if anything is changed from last year (i.e. no 8x), then I would anticipate a large drop in donations through ARK, as many of us would prefer to donate directly to charities for tax reasons (can't use the extra life donations as tax credit if you live outside the US), so tread carefully with changing the incentives Ced

You can transfer nude but can not transfer anything between servers......it is still a royal pain in the backside. At least we got a tribe member to our ext before it all despawned. The real question is will they have it fixed by the time val is thrown open for transfers? We are two weeks into this with no projection when it will end.

Also, in case anyone's wondering, Cedric already said on twitter that a Scorched Earth ascension isn't gonna be a part of the update. What makes it worse is that he tried to excuse it by saying something like "spoilers they didn't even ascend in the story", and as "proof" quoted this single random line from one of Helena's SE notes that has absolutely NOTHING to do with an ascension, meanwhile I'm finding several other lines in the story that DO support the idea of an ascension. Part of the reason this all ticks me off is because Cedric treats the idea like it's "nonfunctional" and not worth the effort, even though in reality the ascensions are not only really cool to look at and give players this sense of accomplishment after all they've gone through, but without them you wouldn't know there are connections between the maps if you didn't read the story.

Hello. I know they are making a lot of changes to this game. I would like to make a suggestion. Let us be able to use remote inventories. For example. If I am riding an Argentavis, I can build things from my characters inventory and the Argentavis inventory so I dont need to move all the items over to my inventory.

Yikes, when devs get put on the spot they should just say no comment. Obviously they did ascend because we know of them on abb and extinction.

Any chance of some info on Genesis as in current progress, if its on target and also we were told there would be some 'cool' stuff possibly implemented into our HLNA talking light before release is that still gonne be a thing @Cedric

Hello Wildcard Team

It may be possible to back up the old server to make it and play the back up later on the new server so that the player culture is not destroyed! Our tribe and buildings are attending ARK time. Even newer tribes have invested a lot of time. It would be a pity if the deletion of the servers would leave even more players forever.

It would also be interesting to know which ARK servers exactly from the Wipe Dates: Oct 1st, 2019; Dec 31st, 2019; Mar 24th, 2020; Jun 16th, 2020; Sept 8th, 2020; Dec 1st, 2020 are affected? or maybe everyone!

I’ve been a long time supporter of this game, own all the dlc except scorched earth. With that being said the grind an taming speed on 1x has gotten to me an some of my friends. It shouldn’t take 4 hrs to tame a dire bear or anything that is worth something. There needs to be something done about this, ppl have jobs an lives. Revert back to the old kibble I prefer that WAY better. I lost a 301 mel cause the servers kept kicking me an not letting me join. When I finally joined a tribe killed me an my Mek. Will ark team make things right, nope. This game screams not to be played on 1x or if your trying to build up. Like I said I played a lot over 100 hrs put in but I feel my time is coming to a end. I love the game an just want some type of change that’ll maybe things bearable. I’m done till there’s some type of event that actually instill some kinda fun back into the game.

Does the ark team actually read any of what is written here? Do they ever reply? I'm honestly really curious. I am a long time begginer server player. I love helping the new players with dinos and learning the ropes. I love how hard it is to do anything on them.  But I'd really like to be able to transfer some of my hard work off before they wipe all my stuff.  Like give me an hour to move some stuff. Please.

@Laray  I've posted here, made a thread on the Xbox support forum and sent in two tickets.  It's clear we are NOT being heard.  I don't like that they are going to wipe the servers, but for goodness sake, let us transfer our items and dinos as intended by their own statement upon logging in!

"Welcome Survivors!  Beginner Officials are servers we recommend for new players.  They are download restricted which means that you cannot download your items, creatures, or characters onto this server but you can upload them from it."   Yet another disappointment from the Wildcard team.

Thanks for the answer ? Since I have misunderstood that! I read it that the legit servers are deleted by appointments. But well, the beginner server players should also know when, novice server xy will be deleted, so they have a chance to get it together and pack it well. First appointment is October 1st * scared *

Frankly, I'd like to hear some actual reasons for regular wipes.  All I see from Wildcard's statement above is "we didn't intend for these servers to be a long-term place to become established."  I'd like to know how this is causing any problems. 

Most players that come to the Beginner servers do not stick around, but the ones who do (these long-term establishments) are the ones HELPING the new players.  I can't count how many players I've helped from basic questions such as, "I'm hungry, how do I eat?" to providing some basic tools and dinos to helping with the alpha raptor infestation.  I've seen other long-term residents do the same.   Keep in mind the ones who do stick around are quite few so I'm not sure how this has created a problem.

The reality is that the Beginner servers are HARD, much harder than regular official servers.  Some of these issues outlined by Carlsjroo.  The level caps, the inability to get any good engrams or blueprints, the difficulty in taming better dinos able to help you defend your base, and the seemingly increased spawns of alpha raptors makes for a daunting introduction to the game.

The things the Beginner servers DO have  going for them is:  land is easy to acquire and there is a LOT less lag.  Because few players stick around, the numerous  small bases littering the beaches decay regularly.  Due to the absence of large bases filled with an overrun number of rexes, gigas and wyverns the lag is significantly less.  There's also the challenge to see what one can accomplish given the restrictions.  These factors appeal to some veteran players who value these perks over the limitations.

The dye is cast and I know that the Beginner servers will be wiped regardless, but to Wildcard I say, for the love of the game, PLEASE ENABLE ITEM AND DINO TRANSFERS!!

 

Edit:  Note my experience has been with PVE servers so I cannot speak for the experiences of the PVP Beginner servers.

I find it hilarious reading through these posts to see people that say we are "hiding out". I have been on a beginner server for 6 months or so. I am an Alpha and for the first time in 2 years actually enjoy the game because there isn't just senseless wiping. We've built bars, marketplaces and arenas for people to go to to trade and have fun and as the other people have been saying - to help people. Also it is incredibly hard to succeed on a beginner server and takes primitive to a new level.

Have you ever killed an Alpha mosa without scuba and at level 44 in the hope you get a good rod so you can get good gear? Have you ever tried to take the hard snow cave at lvl 44 against lvl 98 Purlovia - it is crazy but made the game far more interesting. WIldcard make out they are trying to help "new players" yet the servers you can transfer to from beginner servers are all impossible - i went to 5 of them and all of them had vaults on all the Obi's and Lvl 300+ Wyverns to take you down - you lvl 60 argy is really going to stand a chance. At no point do they try to stop foundation spamming or the vaulting of Obi's but instead attack the beginner servers who for the most part help each other and have fun.

It is a truly shocking decision. I've managed all 10 caves which was thought to be impossible and was blood hard as well as taken the boss on that was within the limitations. My plan was to build a Tek bar on S1 were people could meet but instead Wildcard destroy the communities on here to "help" new players who will then quit once they go to an official server where massive tribes will wipe them. There is no appreciation for the regular players from Wildcard. Shock Horror its been 5 weeks i have been waiting for replies to my tickets about dinos disappearing and wildcard do nothing.  

At least I can say i took down an alpha squid at lvl 44 and managed all the caves. We are going to be inviting our community to our paintball arena for one last game before sitting in the bar whilst they wipe everything.

Wow a little warning IN GAME about the beginner servers would've made way too much sense i guess huh?

ive been playing on a beginer server for months for the challenge, no transfers in, harsh level cap, no way to get certain saddles etc except for through caves

i have been working on excellent breeding lines of megatheriums and chalicotheriums and argies and found saddle blueprints from caving and was enjoying the damn game on there for a while.. 

now its all gone, there was no warning on the servers themselves or on the login screen, i had no indication that the months of work would just be lost instantly without warning...

this is the 2nd time my server was totally lost too, i was on 383 official island pve when that one was entirely lost to some sort of backup error and crash..

 

so ive been on 898 trying to enjoy the game there since and now its also lost.. raptor-ING-poop

can you stop deleting my months of work over and over without any warning im likely to see?

No explanation given why "this type of play" was harming anything or anyone.  It's not like the servers were overloaded.  You'd be hard pressed to find 10 players on at a time.  Just what was the problem?  I'd love a better reason or explanation other than "long-term" establishments weren't intended.  It took them a year and a half to come to that conclusion?
I saw no mention on the forums of it ever being a problem so to you, Wildcard, I say, establish a line of communication.  So far, you don't have one.

I know, however, no explanation or communication will ever come.

ya i paid for the game, i was playing according to all stated terms, and my base was tiny, it was 4-12 ceilings plus a raft and i helped noobs learn the game and gave away tames sometimes and helped explain how to transfer

 

if thats the kind of play they want to eliminate, first , what the raptor, and second, WARN US IN GAME

Where and when can I find a new small tribe server to start in without transfers??? Its ridiculous how this game is becoming ran. You can no longer enjoy the game when you're wiped after one day of building... Especially when solo it doesn't matter if your level 100 you'll be wiped because you never have a chance to even run 20 feet without getting malled. Just got wiped after finally building something up by a group of people with gigas, rock golems, and meks. They had 10x what I already had in that base and it was just me who did all the work. The game is longer enjoyable when you can't even enjoy any of the features of the game. You need new servers without transfers soon. And a solo buff is fair if youre gonna allow a 301 fire mek to attack a nothing metal base with few turrets. It's rediculoussss
