Can you get a level 1 Giga through normal gameplay?

Was there even an event that offered a level 1 Giga?

Can you obtain one through Breeding?

Yes you can get level 1 gigas, or any tame that can bred for the most part - by breeding for the lower stats, rather than the higher ones. Say you had a male level 5 giga with only 4 points in weight, and a female with only 4 points in melee, you could breed those two and get a level 1 giga.

a trick i do with rexs is breed my highest stat rex with a low level, like a fresh tamed, then hatch the egg.  50/50 of the time I end up with a lower leveled rex that retains the high level rexs stats.  Repeat it again and I can end up with a even lower level with the high level stats.  This is where having a low level 5 or even 20 can come in handy, allowing you to max the levels on a high stat dino, and like Likeitis said, reduce cloning costs at the same time.

You could start on one of the beginner servers , those lvls are maxed at 40, I would imagine finding a low lvl giga would be guaranteed over a normal server.
